Firstly this is me just venting I don’t expect this to go anywhere, However.
I’m sure everyone has had the same problem I’ve had, you shoot a T-Series tank in the autoloader and NOTING happens. I really wish they would fix the damage model for these tanks. Also damaging the autoloader completely should make it to were the turret cannot move kinda how the turret basket is on the NATO tanks its only fair if NATO tanks get a nerf so should the T-Series tanks. Id love to hear your thoughts on this matter.
True, I been playing chinese ztz96a (same autoloader as russian) and everytime I get penned destroys the autoloader but still can shoot back and protects me from ammo detonation. Very unfair.
yes, however when NATO baskets get hit by the tiniest spall they are completely out of action. I would say that autoloaders are much more durable in game than the NATO turret baskets like the damage values are different or something.
I’d rather turret baskets be reworked than nerfing the already poor survivability of non NATO MBTs. They should have more health, be less massive, and maybe they could substantially slow down the turret rotation and not entirely disable it.
As for the specific shot you showed, you just aimed right inbetween all the critical components.
I’ve had ammo not explode happen a concerning number of times against Tiger IIs and T34s, so it isn’t just a Russian thing.
Its something that will never change. The issue is russian tanks are stronger, they are just played by the worse players hence why they are always the ones that get these kind of buffs. With this even if the autoloader is taken out, if they have a round loaded they can shoot back meanwhile western tanks just either instantly dead (with the magical lack of spall lining) or completely immobilised so cant shoot back.
Prime example as well is KH38s and LMURS. Western equivalents seem to get worse and worse yet russia gets the only properly modelled FNF for helis and fake AG missiles to help boost stats. If you havent already i would suggest looking at this thread - Vehicle Performance at Top Tier Fifth Edition - Game Discussion / Realistic Battle - War Thunder — official forum which although doesnt really show tank differences you can see the massive difference between russian cas and everything else.
I agree that it defiantly does happen to other nations but I would also argue that its more blatant on western autoloaders. As for my hit save this player was coming from their spawn to take an adjective and had not seen combat I would assume the hit analysis saved what was in their autoloader. That being said my round passed right though the charges inside the autoloaders and also did little damage to the module.
they arent realistic and gaijin knows it. Theyre excuse was “because its to balance shooting the LFP doing minimal damage” or wtv. Shooting the LFP on anything that isnt an abrams was a guaranteed one shot for most NATO tanks and the abrams was already so fragile. And when theres bug reports made about it they do the usualy gaijin fashion and “accept” it (they wont add the update for maybe two-three years if were lucky)
I opened a bug report on it. Also a thread. The MZ series autoloaders have a invisible plate that absorbs spall, preventing it from hitting the crew inside the turret.
