Yes. The reason for discussion is the tanks being labeled “external” yet there is no material modeled between them and the crew compartment.
Spall liner.
This is not modeled ingame.
The fuel tank is white, representing the spall liner surrounding the fuel tank.
You can see very clearly in my first image that this is represented, and modeled, and shown in the x-ray.
I wish this was labeled as such ingame other than being called an “exterior fuel tank”.
The spall liner you’re viewing does not connect to the fuel tanks, you can see this explicitly.
It’s more that it’s made of mild steel which tends to bend rather than spall.
Pretty sure the material of wall around autoloader is not hardened steel but alluminium.
I also dont remember it being anywhere around 20 mm.
I finally found it. It’s hidden on the UFP’s back area.
Astounding.
It would be best to make a suggestion, then. I’d assume it was done to make it clear that it will not injure crew.
That’s the outer section of the fuel tank, not the inner. Try again.
That is in fact modeled on Abrams, fuel tank of Abrams can stop 3BM42.
Thats modeled for every each fuel tank in game, it acts as a spall liner and provides some protection.
I’ve been told the tanks are internal.
By who? They may be inside the tank, but they aren’t in the fighting compartment.
Thanks for providing evidence that it doesn’t spall.
You’ll notice that armor isn’t a fuel tank.
The game.
All fuel tanks stop spalling. The armor plate of the Abrams regenerates spall.
And ofc you choose the weaker point to shoot it at, however at frontal armour it will stop 3BM42. It has done so in battles when facing the Abrams.
You really havent changed anywhere from wasting people’s time.
Kind of a chance thing 60/40
And if you go even more flat angle or take the left fuel tank it will be nearly guaranteed.
