T 58 going up in BR and the Turm 3 escapes again!

Rejoice people! The T 58 is moving up to 8.7! A deserved BR increase no doubt but how did the Turm 3 escape this round of BR changes again?

Cuz TURM III is Gaijin’s cash cow that all the German mains buy

at the end of 2024 gaijin did a post about the year and the turm 3 was the most common tank to be spawned in a match. i imagine 2025 and now 2026 are going to be the exact same.

just like SAV it just prints money endlessly.

The difference is in the skill floors.

The T58’s very trollish armor and forgiving firepower means that it takes little to no skill to do well in it. Take the BMPT as the extreme example of what I’m talking about. Even a player with limited experience can just hold W and fire at targets they see, and they can manage somewhat decent results.

Meanwhile, the skill floor of the TURM is much higher. It has no consistent survivability, meaning players who just charge in blindly will typically just die. It’s only more skilled players, who can use it’s excellent mobility and position appropriately who get absurd results out of it.

The fact that the T58 is moving up while the TURM isn’t indicates that Gaijin likely balances based off global stats, rather than using any sort of normalization. By this I mean, since there are more bad players than good players, tanks that don’t require much skill to do well in will have inflated stats over a vehicle that may be even stronger, but requires more skill to get the most out of it.

this is really obvious with the chieftain mk10 and 900 moving to 9.3 and the F-15 moving to 12.7 btw

As a T58 connoisseur as well as the Turm, I agree the T58 is a beast. Turm though I dont feel needs to be moved. T58 as 6 rounds with over 400mm of pen ready to fire in 5 sec intervals…its a monster in that BR without even adding in its armor and ability to survive. Turm is good, 30mm is fun but it still has a decent reload time and only limited 30mm plus the damn thing is made from paper mâché and even 20mm guns can kill it quick not to mention SPAAGs will eat it alive

This is true. T58 can make even my bad play look pro level. The rounds hit hard, reload is insane and covers poor shot placement and its armor is troll level. Turm does have a really high ceiling all though most of the German tanks in that BR do as well. After the lovely WW2 armor fest, German tanks turned to the wonderful world of aluminum and paper for armor so they take much more thought about when and where to be shooting.
Turms main selling point I believe is its speed and 30mm…damn its fun but you play wrong youll be spanked quite fast in it. 30mm is good but not Gepard levels good plus limited ammo for it so its BR I think is pretty good.

Well consider all the data though. What tanks do most people outside of this game know about? The big cats of WW2 mainly so a lot of new players, me included, start out in German tanks. Going from the Tiger, Panther and Jagd tanks of WW2 to a Turm is quite a jump just in mobility so I think folks tend to buy it first off.
So you have a popular tree plus one of the 1st serious changes in tank performance in the German tree so there would naturally be a lot more players in them and trying to use them.

Personally Turm is good, its fun but for me, I just cant use it well. I like the brawling tanks and Turm is a hit run type tank, a flanker and im just not good with those as I think most are also not to skilled in them.
Its a huge jump from a JagdTiger to a Turm 3 in all metrics.

I’ve never really had a problem dealing with the Turm III cause of it’s absolute paper armor displaced by it’s armament, one of the most distinct glass cannons in the game imo. As for the T-58, good.

Okay but when is the BMPT gonna be 13.7 exactly ?
