T-55a should be at 8.0

Ah yes the T-55A is totally equal to the AMX-30…

Why do you think T-55A with subpar 3BM25 should face M60A1 RISE (P) in AB?

I have used the ZTZ69 with HEATFS to easily destroy T-54s (1947/1949/1951), and even T-55As, when uptired.

ZTZ59D1 can’t handle 3BM25? Have you tried tilting the armor yet?

Some 8.3 MBTs don’t even have a dart and use APDS/HEAT.

Oh no, my vehicle struggles to lolpen vehicles a full BR higher, what a misery.

T-55A is a perfectly fine 8.3 medium tank and can surely compete with it’s contemporaries.

Also playing AB, you should know rangefinder is disabled, assign a button try it out in testdrive, it’s displayed by default, no rangefinder or LRF in GFAB.

DM23 has 2 mm more flat pen, better angled 190 comparted to 160 iirc;
M728/735 have sub 300mm of penetration;
at 8.0 most have no stab and or dart;
M48A2 G A2 has no stab;
All M48-m60 are as slow as T series while being way taller, most have cuppola weakspot where you can use the D APCBC round with 239mm of pen more then enough.
Angled pen only comes into play when facing higher tiered opponents, even with the “weak” 3BM25, not many can outright resist it, things like OF-40, LEO1, Cent Mk10, Vickers Mk3 and AMX-30 have nowhere near this level of protection, only M60 variants have it. Just shoot these below the rightside of the turret in the hull to hit the ready rack and watch them go poof.

T62’s 3BM4 is free and has better angled pen then 3BM3, i use it.

Would you rather have ~15mm more pen at 60 degrees, or 60mm more at 0 degrees? Your answer should be the latter.

The APFSDS has 2mm more pen.

So less turret armor and slightly more hull armor?

Which still means you can pen the hull, and it’s again a Jumbo situation where the M60A1 RISE (P) has to use terrible rounds in exchange for the armor.

Chieften mk3 is 8.7 doesnt have apfsds or a laser range finder, no 50 cal, is significantly slower all for marginaly better armour so having subpar apfsds and no rangefinder at 8.3 isn’t that crazy.

No. T55a is good. 8.0 is leopard 1 a much worse tank, and at 8.7 you got the chieftain, also a worse tank.

What terrible rounds? M728 is a very good round

265mm of pen from a 105mm round is good? Tf

Flat pen is not that important. M728 has really god angled pen for an apds round and has no issue with vehicles at its br

Flat pen is very important, especially at 8.0-8.7 where you’re facing a lot of tanks with thicker armor. Angled pen isn’t going to help if you can’t pen it head-on.

seems like you can only see the first number on the stat card and completely disregard everything else, clearly just 2mm more of pen… not to mention that it also has a lower ricochet angle, peformancewise it is much closer to the 100mm apds 3bm8 than to the 105 mm m111, it just spall more with a slightly lower shattering chance

For every one of your examples, everyone would be aiming for the other areas. I mean do you expect to pen the most armored tanks’ most armored spots, even for tanks at a BR higher than you?

where else do you shoot a obj 279 or a chieftain that is hull down?, hull on the obj and the turret on the chieftain, besides, clearly shows that these rounds doesnt pen just “2mm more”…
Again angle penetration matters a lot, and quite often is far more important than flat penetration, fx 3bm22 is much better than the 3bm15 even if it pens 15mm less and it is way worse than the 3m42 even if the latter just pen 17mm more, the m1000a1 is way better than the 3bm3 even if it pens 7mm less, the 120mm l15a3 is far better than the 105 dm 13 even if it pens 50mm less, fuck even the m728 is arguably better while having 80mm less of penetration.

If you cant see this i would recomend you to play apcr, then come again to claim that angle penetration “is not going to help you”, btw just as a reminder, the most armored tanks around this br uses have sloped armor specially the soviet tanks.

The barrel/breech, or don’t shoot.

It shows where you might be able to pen maybe, but no one is going to risk the chance.

then it doesnt pen just 2mm more as you claim, one round can penetrate it easily where it does not need to resource to destroing the a barrel or not shooting while other have to, yet youre here claiming that there is no difference…

are you blind? in any of this scenarios you dont assume a risk by shooting a m111, it completely outmatches the armor no player is not going to shoot at them.

This wouldn’t be fair to T-54s that are already at 8.0.
Also APDS can shatter but APFSDS are harder to shatter thus APFSDS are more reliable
There are reason why i don’t load 3BM-8 once i have 3BM25.
If you need more pen there are HEAT-FS.

It only pens 2mm more on shots people will actually take.

Yes, angled armor values can change rapidly, so trying to aim for highly angled armor specifically is not something that you should do.

yes, because if you see a t72 you would never try to shoot at the sides at high angles… which is pretty much the most common way to kill them, it seems you dont really know how to effectively use apdsfs .

Yes, you don’t.
