By the time the Eurofighter entered service the ASRAAM was already in service as well (and only adding the EFT to Germany would make the British mains cry for their own with the ASRAAM).
Sure you could slap some 9Ms on the EFT for Germany, but that’s still the best sidewinder variant in the game at this point, and it would also have the best BVR missiles along with the best airframe in the game.
It’s too powerful at the moment, but its time is coming very soon. I have a feeling we’ll see it by the end of the year.
Personally I don’t expect the first Typhoons to come with ASRAAM at all, and I’m pretty sure everyone thinks the same. Next generation IR missiles will be a much bigger jump than FOX 3 was, UK also used sidewinders on theirs anyways so it should not be a problem at all. Of course it would be a problem if only one nation got it and the other 2 that also use and produce it didn’t.
Idk about “save”… switzerland is objectively one of the worst subtrees germany could possibly get, with the only thing of actual value being thw hornet, which is an air to air only hornet to boot…
It doesnt “solve” anything so much as its a very temporary fix for an issue entirely of gaijins own making.
The only thing that i think should be added here is the D.38xx series and the F/A-18
We really don’t need another copy pasta F-5 and the Vampire and Venom isn’t exactly needed since the 163 and G.91 alr exist + the P-16 is a much more unique plane to be added.
WE DO NOT NEED MORE COPY PASTA.
I’m all for the IIIs (and Milan S) to be added, just maybe not the IIIC or any of the literal copy pasta from Bri’ish and Murica. Ok with the F-5E/F and F-5F tho.
would be unique for Germany though, different play style compared to 262s, since the venom and vampire specialise more into turn fighting than energy fighting
what versions of the Vampire and Venom were the swiss using? would need that to make a judgement call. But at the minute I’m all against a Swiss Subtree if this is the basis of what they were getting.
Swiss Hunter should’ve been in the UK tree, and Swiss mods of French aircraft should be in the FR tree. Swiss ground additions also have no place in German tree.
So is every other subtree? Be it India, South africa, hungary, finland or benelux countries
I think Argentina looks better But I agree
Argentinia was denied (poland aswell). People mainly make these swiss suggestions because of the random placed hunter and some hints by dataminers that a subtree for germany air is coming.
After netherlands did go to france there are not many other countries left which could get added to germany. Spain maybe instead of switzerland
Must be why France has received BeNeLux to complete, am i rite?
(Surprise surprise, your highest BR’d German vehicles are the Puma and the G.91 R/3, but you surely know what Germany needs and what it doesn’t, specifically high tier air…).
Swiss ground additions also have no place in German tree.
Leopard 2s have no place in the German tree, more news at 9. Oh, but, F-16s have a place in the French TT (along with Leopard 2s), F-18s in the Swedish one, and Gripens in the British :p
I mean, I’ll gladly take Denmark or Spain, both arguably better than Switzerland :)
despite that smin said that denmark isn’t confirmed to be a subtree for sweden it’s very unlikely they end up as a subtree. Much more likely they end up as a future subtree for sweden many years in the future or like canada distributed over many trees, considering that just recent they added a danish vehicle to sweden
I’d say Argentina is the most logical choice for a subtree. Of course they haven’t any top tier aircraft between a subsonic A-4 with AIM-9M and the F-16AM with AIM-9X and AIM-120C. Gaijin or at least Smin has denied Argentina though for some reason so let’s put that aside.
After Argentina, Spain would be my first choice. With a good variety of vehicles, and close political ties to Germany both in WWII and the modern day, and operating many German vehicles especially tanks. The Leopard 2E would have been a great way to hunt at a Spanish subtree, but Gaijin decided to jump a generation and go for the 2A7 instead because hype. There are also some Italian mains who think that small European country= Italian subtree. But the EF-18A and EF-18A+ could be great to address the lack of CAS aircraft or aircraft between the ICE and Typhoon, though really an early Typhoon without IRIS-T (a Block 2) would be 13.7, 14.0 max.
Unfortunately it looks like Switzerland is the most likely option. After all, a Swiss model of a British aircraft that had exactly 0% to do with Germany went to the German tree on account of being Swiss. Gaijin’s also been seemingly pushing for geographically determined subtrees, look at the Thai F-5 and discussions of a SEA subtree, or BeNeLux for France.
I worry that it’s likely we’ll see a Swiss F-18C before a Typhoon- something literally no one will be happy about.
There’s not really other alternatives: Netherlands is locked in for France, Denmark for Sweden, and a Polish subtree is frankly ridiculous.
Swiss variants of german vehicles can go to the obvious tree that is closest to them. I’ll let you guess which one that is. Since you clearly fancy yourself as a detective.
You want people to get high BR german stuff to comment on them, I’ll happily accept a large donation of GE and GJN to that order. It’s not as if the Leopard 2 platform is one of the most opressive top BR contenders, surpassed only by literal swede bias.
As for additions for the future, I’ve gone and looked into the Pz 87-140 and German domestic Leopard 2 with 140mm gun. Those with more modern domestic Leopard 2 variants give the German tree a bright future, even without Swiss additions. In Air, the EF2000 early variants are; at worst, one or two updates in the future. Do you need more?
