They’re actually considerably more maneuverable (15-18g depending on model) and with generally better seekers, the lack of a proxy fuze is their only real shortcoming, plus the pretty poor energy. They’re dogfight missiles, a low tier R-73.
An old post breaking down the performance using SMC data:
Bomb truck with no bombs?
Yeah those were removed though when Italy became a thing (I still have all those bombers) and were not replaced with another subnation.
Yeah, it’s a stretch, but all the remaining century-series not in game yet are. 101, 102 and 106 were all fast, clumsy planes with either poor or non-existent effective (conventional) armaments. Can’t really blame Gaijin for leaving them out. (We can add the Avro Arrow and late-model F-89 to that list too.)
4 M39s isn’t ineffective, nor are the 101s clumsy.
The C-35 is needed to balance the Swordfish and Po-2. They are truly monstrous planes, and only the C-35 can bring peace to the skies.
Little self-advertisment: Published some C-3604 skins, two historical ones, one semi-historic:

I’ve also done an improved version of the default skin, including the missing tail number and squadron badges, but still missing good reference for some details on the wing camo, so I’m not done yet completely:

Very lovely! Especially the second one.
Why does the premium hornet not have a hmd? In the current cockpit model you can clearly see switches to turn hmd/ hms on or off.
Because it was only added in a later upgrade…
It is possible that gaijin either used the wrong cockpit model or the Swiss didn’t buy the planes with HMD installed originally. Just because the button exists doesn’t mean the specific plane necessarily had HMD installed. (a good example is the non MLU finish F-18C, it is the same as the american F-18C Late but the finish did buy it without HMD and only got HMD later)
Yes, I don’t think gaijin makes a lot of different cockpit versions for (sub-)variants. See e.g. Harrier GR.1 which has GR.3 cockpit with CMS controls…
very cool gaijin, clearly a lot of effort went into modelling and texturing work
That’s clearly your settings bro
full ultra settings and ssaa4x? not enough for a texture that is not 128x128 i guess
btw this is how this tiger should look like, on another skin
maybe someone else should check, could be some freak one off bug on my side
I’m not quite sure what you want or ask…
Tiger is fine, just resolution in your first pic is bad, for whatever reason.
It is however definitely not well done on the Swiss Hornet skin…
Flew the C-3604 for 58 times in Air RB to get an “aced” crew. I lost 4 aircraft (3 times overspeeding) but this plane is amazing.
Pros:
- Amazing firepower
- Very nice turn with flaps
- Good high speed handling
- Two matches to fully spade it
- Eats Yaks for breakfast
- AP belt kills ai tanks quite ez
Downsides:
- Missing air brake / rather low rip speed
- Engine needs MEC to avoid overheating with WEP
- With infinite WEP the fuel consumption is very high
- Rather strange MM (very often Axis vs Allies and full uptiers)
Highly recommended!
A few years ago i would have said that the BR is too low - but when i meet P-39s (almost) every match and other undertiered US props like F4Us and P-51 Cs every 2nd or 3rd match the BR is fine. You outturn basically everything (even B-239s and Hurricanes) - the 2.7 cannon Tchaika is the exception…
i am confused myself, for some reason the default skin is really blurry for me
not only the tiger, the entire plane
just to clarify, the plane im talking about is the new tech tree hunter
Resolution quality of this skin is really not too good, but not as bad as visible on your screenshots, and I don’t know where that comes from…
If you want a high-resolution, high-quality version of exactly that skin, check out @Ninetalis skin here: WT Live // Camouflage by Ninetalis
It’s for the Squadron Hunter, but can easily be adapted to work on the Tech Tree variant…
With your preference for planes that also have airbrakes (B7A2, SM91/92 (can’t remember which… maybe both?), Italian Thunderbolt) I can see how this happens… :D
It is though. I’ve only flown it a few times but basically the experience has matched with your pros.
