While some ships like the Glorious and the Deutschland class can really be in their proper element in EC matches using range and speed to their advantage, ships like the Alaska, Kron, Dunkerque, and to a lesser degree the Scharn (unsure on that one) all need a .3-.6 BR reduction to give them breathing room from the brawler battleships that they were never designed to encounter in the first place.
Presently there’s an acceptable balance between late war cruisers and early battleships (speed/maneuverability vs power and armor), these large cruisers and tiny capitol ships fill out that trifecta with the balance of agility and power but not the armor to totally dominate.
Maybe the BR change should be over all game modes but I’d settle for some sort of EC exception for now ¯_(ツ)_/¯
