Attached is an image of a very super secret gatekept document to help gaijin fix tracks traction and random tiny bits of wood slowing down your 50 ton death machine from 40km/h to 5km/h.
I agree, MBT acceleration needs to be nerfed to correct levels.
MBTs over-performing in acceleration is a sad inaccuracy.
Ground traction isn’t enough and needs to be as correct as possible, which would also slow down acceleration of MBTs to more correct levels once corrected.
how did you get acceleration from traction and tiny objects having to much inertia?
I think he means that most vehicles, that doesn’t have that much weight tend to be simply stopped by the first obstacle. A easy comparison is the obstacle physics in WoT and the obstacle physics in WT, in WoT you barely feels that something is stopping you.
Same way water completely stops your momentum, it’s not something to be nerfed since there’s nothing there, it simply stops the force.
Cause the current traction of ground partially causes tanks to over-perform in acceleration.
Traction isn’t sticky enough.
Fences likely have too much impact HP.
Trees and their remains are likely accurate though.
The main issues are things like lamp posts, trees and random poles that clip your tanks as you drive by them, slowing you down like 5-10km/h, or god forbid a small plastic cone while whipping around in the type 93, 100+km/h to a full stop in an instant due to a tiny little cone
that’s… that’s not really correlated in that way… friction in the x-axis is not the same as stickiness in the y-axis and both can be changed independently with material design.
yes. WAY to much.
not exactly, a Tank going 50km/h can drive over a car and perhaps loose only 5km/h of its speed while in WT you loose like 30km/h if you hit one car. Same with trees.
A car is ductile.
Tree fibers are strong, and roots are hilariously strong.
You should see the necessary strength it takes to uproot trees with dedicated equipment let alone tanks.
Then the damage that logs can and do cause to suspension systems.
The average tree that people think are rammable are also nowhere near thick enough to stop an MBT, for example most of the trees on Poland should be easily destructable without halting or even slowing a Leopard or Abrams
These larger trees are the ones that indeed should stop your tank, especially one on the lighter/slower side
Somewhat off topic, but I did my very first book report in middle school on . . . inertia(it was a small book . . lol) and even had pictures. Like the completely unbroken piece of straw imbedded 6" in to a palm tree in Florida from a hurricane. Or the guy that got in a traffic accident and the cigarette he was smoking shot halfway thru the windshield, also unbroken and still smoking.
Conclusion . . . inertia = . . magik
☻
Yes it takes a lot of force, but a 60 tonne tank going 60km/h has so much inertial energy that a small tree with the diameter of 20cm or less isn’t going to slow the speed down by by any noticeable amount due to the differing inertia and continuously added force to the tank.
Oh big trees absolutely :) anything thicker than 50cm diameter is going to be a different story and is way more accurate in game than the smaller trees (not to mention small trashcans, lamp-posts, fences, etc) compared to irl.
Edit:
Something is missing i the video, something that has been dragging the tree for hundreds of meters.
Haha.
