Small correction, F-16 and F-22 do not use DSI
Does the ramp have RAM coating?

Those ramps iirc are for FOD protection when operating in unideal ADs. 101 simulation is perhaps the best we have, but it still has innacuracies – I’ll edit an image for the radar blocker shortly.
So it wouldn’t be using them in normal flight?
From what I’ve read the consensus seems to be it’s the levcons controlling shockwaves, it’s been sometime since I’ve dwelled on 5th gen readings, tho.
Now, for the simulations, I mean innacuracies such as that (also the patent drawings not looking like the real thing at all):
And the radar blocker itself. Doesn’t look like the triangular mesh, tiled grille nor that ‘star shaped’ mesh.

unlikely that that is their primary usage because they arent covering the whole intake
dosent really make sense either since the levcons would generate enourmous ammounts of drag for what they would be doing
most of the time the simplest awnser is probably the correct one esppecially since the side of the intakes have bleed air ports for the boundry layer seperation
your guess is as good as mine, but i would assume so
If it indeed takes that position during flight, then most likely yes. An S-duct technique goes very inline with RAM through the whole duct to diminish EM energy through each bounce.

what would be better for RCS then, a fixed full S duct caret intake like the F-22 or the semi S duct with partially lowered ramp (supercruise speed) and radar blocker on Su-57?
I suppose it still depends on RAM quality, how many bounces you can get on the duct and the likes, so I really don’t know.
My personal guess is an F22/35 would still have an edge on stealth overall, F22 in special looks to me as having less protrusions throughout the design and it goes a bit harder on some techniques (flat nozzles, most panels/serrations are aligned to wing edges, less variation on edge directions, so less RCS spike directions), and the USA has been doing it continuously for longer, while RU/USSR saw a gap in advancements in the 90s. I’d also bet on more advanced RAM for the USA.
Granted all that, I do not believe in a 1.0m^2 frontal x-band RCS for the SU57 either.
this would give it the best IR management of the 5th gens as well iirc
well that is the high end of its average RCS requirment from the patent

I’m aware, just saying I do not agree with the position that the SU57 has RCS the size of the sun.
Yeah, it’s the size of entire solar system… against radars of the 70s
I may be wrong, but I’m not sure how real that image is. I mostly say that because of the weird “tgp” under then intake but also the vertical stabilisers do seem weirdly rotated.
I found it much later its supposed to be a camera to record all the missile launches and seperations from bay during their testing
erm to be fair that was done on very crude models
on the better models the rcs of su57 was 3x~ more than that of f35 in frontal arc, which is something but definately not as much as people claim
surprisingly in that sim j20 did DRASTICALLY better than both the felon and f35
p sure almost all the aesas have LPI, even the PESA IRBIS has that technology till some extent
anyways the task of the L band is to do EW (for which LPI obviously does not apply), ESM (which is just passive), and PD MAWS (whose usage may vary with EMCON in diff scenarios. Most prob uses LPI but i mean that can be still picked up by ESM and ELINT systems)
Not really, it’s a specific feature of certain fighter AESA manufacturers like Northrop, Raytheon etc
L band is also much less precise than X band so any LPI would still be less effective on top of being less mature technology
Russian radars rely mostly on raw power and size so naturally will lack in LPI
ehh not really this time, the peak power of n036 aint allat, neither is size
again not true, its just magic algorithm which makes the receiver receive like a freakshow of frequencies that they cant just pinpoint at anything.
You can replicate it in multiple ways, with your own devloped algorithm
i guess but accuracy isnt that big of a concern for it
Should be worse than previous radars in range, trades size for side arrays
