The upgrade from R-77 to the -1 served a different purpose. The R-77-1 was meant as a smaller upgrade, that made it slightly better aerodynamically, better propulsion and better ECM.
The R-77M is a much bigger upgrade, way bigger than R-77 to -1. It uses a completely new propulsion system, dual pulse which is something the US only the US is starting to use now. It has a completely redesigned body and fin design as well as a completely new seeker, possible AESA.
There was no reason to make the R-77-1 fit the Su-57, it wasn’t urgent since it didn’t play any major role in the VKS yet. Why would they make it harder for themselves just to make it fit into the Su-57 when they only existed in small numbers? Creating folding grid fins would be very, very hard.
Bro simply ignores the fact that between 2006 and 2020 (first photos of R-77M installed on the aircraft) 14 goddamn years. I guess Su-35S should’ve been flying empty for 10 years until promised R-77M
I’m trying to convince you that fins can, in fact, be removed from missiles for storage.
But you yourself said earlier that the missile was already ready. And yet they somehow couldn’t test it for another 4 years. In any case, how does that explain why the new missile doesn’t fit inside the aircraft that was already being designed at the same time?
Then go back and reread what you yourself wrote earlier. You said they urgently needed a new missile. But then somehow that urgency suddenly disappeared. Because apparently this missile was specifically for the Su-35 (for what reason exactly was it unsuitable for other aircraft?), while the T-50 supposedly needed a completely different missile. Again , why?
I just haven’t seen an official statement of triple racks being introduced and distributed, but they may be added through technical compatibility and what not.
Except that you are not making any sense. You seem to think that as long as you understand your horrible explanations, everyone else should be able to.
Ah, the american. Fine, i’ll explain it to you like you’re 5.
2006 - Russia has no jet, Su-27SM with R-27ER is no bueno at this point, so something new has to be made. Russia orders new cool Su-35. Su-35 has no missile because R-77 was never adopted, is produced in Ukraine and is using tech from the 90s and lags behind pretty much every other missile. Russia orders new missile for upcoming Su-35. Missile made fast, Su-35 made not fast, missile comes much earlier.
Also 2006, Russia plans to make a super cool brand new 5th generation aircraft. Money is problem, program goes very very slowly. Russia orders a new super cool missile to be used by this super cool 5th generation aircraft. Because both are super cool and new, development long and hard. 10 years later both enter service.
Because money is problem, development long and future of 5th generation aircraft is unceartain - no reason to spend extra money to make missile for Su-35 work inside of 5th generation aircraft that existed on paper at best at that moment in time
r-77 folding fins aren’t just meant for storage at warehouses, but originally r-77 fins were meant to be also be able used for internal carriage on fighter jets. That’s why project r-77 derivatives like ramjet r-77 were advertised with folding fins in order to be fired from internal storage bay of 5th gen fighters.
OFC, irl it never ended up happening, but the intent was there.
at the time the only jet with such capabilities would be Mikoyan project 1.44 but that thing never had a weapons bay, only 4 semi-recessed slots for R-77s on a single airframe
Imagine this guy’s face when he finds out that Russia was already exporting the RVV-AE to foreign customers at that exact time, and it worked just fine with slightly modified N001-series radars.
You’re spewing complete fantasy nonsense that you’re clearly making up on the fly. And honestly, I don’t even understand why you’re doing it.
