afaik russia does not want to export the AL-51F1, hence the existence of the 177S, which is a compromise and still a huge improvement over the base AL-41F1
i feel the same way, but what i said still applies, gotta wait for sometime to see how things goes, given the fact some of the flagship tech has been given to india in the past too
going for Su-57 might absolutely demolish the current GE F-404 and F-414 engine deals for the tejas, especially with that leader in service, but he didnt do much when india acquired s400 during his period in the white house, so who knows
I thought that was for flankers, not for the su-57e?
As I said lots of complications, you need to order what’s more important. Is Tejas vital for Indian security?
it’s for the T-75, can fit in flankers, AL-31 engined J-10’s, J-11’s, J-15 and so on and may be fit to india’s 57E’s if they choose so
India will get the lot if Russia want the deal including the new nozzles and powerplants. Su-57E will be export only in name and then India will improve and change the systems to meet their needs. Much like the Su-30MKII
m1 gets a lot of cool stuff other than the engines, one of them is the HMD and the look through capabilities, not to mention the newer radar set. The point of the acquisition is more of a stopgap, being able to obtain highly capable planes of the shelf, but still being able to customize it for future use
what radar does it get
They didn’t acquire anything yet so not possible.
not known, but the article from military watch magazine said its getting a new radar set, its likely given the fact the main frontal radar is stuck with 1500 trm, and is like 15 years old atp
What’s not possible?
having any 5th gens
bc india didnt buy any, yet
or even decided which one they want
India’s choices are, fall behind their nearest rival in Pakistan or wait for Gen 6. Gen 6 is realistically 10 years away.
As I said it’s a question of security
