Which book I got like 3, was just reading through them and decided to post interesting pics I got from them in the su57 suggestion thread, what exactly do you want a picture of
Send pic of the whole page, of any of these books with pg 83
Wiki says su57 has a towed decoy housed in the tail, it’s reference is piotr butowski book from 2021, page 83, I don’t have any of those books and I want to cross check
That it has a towed decoy
If true that’s the first Russian aircraft with a towed decoy
Oh yeah I have that book, I’ll send it in the morning, currently it’s 2 am here lol
okay it’s pretty trash source lol, it says it MAY be equipped with one, not that it has one lol
some cool images
purple flame
whats a variable control engine again
same gun as su 27
i wonder what the yellow parts are, composites?
t-50-5, apparenrlty had a minor redesign?
general cool images
Could be possible with m1
Will come in clutch
it was done during the repair after it caught fire on the tarmac in front of the indian delegation, ending india’s participation on the program, the repaired and improved T-50-5 is called T-50-5R
didnt india show interest in it again recently?
they have because they realised they pulled out of their road to having a stealth aircraft, and now china has the J-20A and the J-35/35A are around the corner
India need a 5th gen and the options are limited. Pakistan are acquiring the J-35. India not having a Gen 5 airframe reflects poorly.
The F-35 has been offered but then India are in with the US and unable to maintain neutrality, you will have noticed India have not given Russia or Ukraine aid during the conflict.
Su-57 makes the most sense, there is an existing relationship, Russia are in a position of weakness and they have agreed to transfer of technology for the Felon. However the current president will see this as a slight and may increase tariffs and put pressure on India’s trade partners.
It is a very delicate situation.
india straight up rejected the F35 x)
Yes they have, especially with the possible future acquisition of kaan or J35 by pakistan. One of the high ranking personnel have said that around 60-70 5th gen aircrafts are to be considered to be bought, this does not come under the other MRFA tender. This is because AMCA are likely not to be inducted for the next 10 years.
Realistic options are only F-35 and Su-57, where F-35 would be severely limited in its capabilities as it cannot use full extent of its network centric warfare alongside russian origin weapons, not to mention the multiple other limitations. Regarding Su-57, the deal still isnt really that bright, IAF is looking for Al-51 but only product 117s is being offered.
Imo IAF are gonna wait on how the Su-57m1 comes out, and if they will be able to acquire a export version of it
MoD has cleared that no formal talks have taken placed yet for f35, they have not rejected it yet, but still there isnt a lot going for it.
it would depend if India is offered the export version of m1 variant or not
but still given the non existential history of india having american fighter jets, it quite unlikely
They have for now, but that to me is because of the restrictions the US put on their airframes.
India wants to use indigenous missiles and F-35 will not allow that. The China question is also a factor.
Su-57 seems the most likely, but India have rejected that one before too.
There is only a small offering of Gen 5 aircraft.
The Izd-177S is offered too, it’s a dedicated export engine that is a bastardized an AL-51F1 fan and some other bits and bobs on an AL-41F1
wait & see
this is a sentence
India really doesnt want al41 based engine, even partially, the condition given for reconsidering Su-57 in the future was when the new Al-51 will come in service
Didn’t it get scrapped though and a brand new one replaced it?
no, it was repaired and improved and went back to flying under the T-50-5R name
