Was it Algeria that purchased Su-57? I would be very skeptical that they purchased a stealth aircraft without an A2A missile that can fit inside of weapon bays.

Well, i guess it has some sense to get Su-57 as a ground strike focused craft, considering survivability of a stealth aircraft and its ability to carry up to 4 Kh-58USHKE
I still can’t get why Kh-58 can fit inside but R-37M can’t, considering that they both have bodies of exact same dimensions and only difference is folding wings. Is it that hard to make folding wings for R-37M?

Mostly its a air combat focused plane. Support for strike plane ( exactly like russia su34 with su35 ) or even simple air superiority.
without internally carried A2A missile… why bother at this point? Just buy even more Su-35

Now looking around algeria. Only f16 blk52 and rafale and maybe eft spain are present ( not including italy f35 as both nation have good relationships and italys buy all it oil and gaz from algeria)
They are mostly 4th gen. 5th vs 4th we can expect the su57 to have a advantage and get a little closed around 150km.
Who can enough for the rvv-sd if launched at hight alt and good speed.

But, with external weapons Su-57 will loose advantage in stealth. Sure defenicve suite with LDIRCM and such might be superior to Su-35S but i think N035 + R-37M still offers more range than N036 + R-37M

If we are talking about r37m. Any plane wont matter.
Hell even mig25 can shoot it and su57 or 35 provide datalinks. But problem is the rvv-bd is limited to 200km and only 1 way data link.

IIRC there is no concrete evidence that R-77/RVV-AE can fit inside. I am not even sure that they are produced with folding fins.

Well, for now we have no evidence. Probably they can fit, but i will be undecided until we actually see either footage or at least a photo.
