Is the Su-57 base on the older flankers?
The press release for su-57 says that it has a “number of unique features” compared to previous fighters and that includes a unique avionics complex.
Nothing concrete that says that it’s not based off the flanker, but I certainly think it’s not

No one wants untested engine, especially engine that was designed completely from scratch. F119 was in development for 13 years iirc, and it is in a country with practically unlimited money. And it might be the very first afterburning jet engine with variable bypass ratio, if rumors are true.
