Sukhoi Su-57 Felon - Technical details, Analysis and Discussion

Would be pretty cool if the nozzles could rotate along the longitudinal axis of the aircraft to achieve completely indepent motion, but I think they will just do that mirrored movement seen on the SU30MKA (both nozzles point diagonally upwards/outwards for pitch up, downwards/inwards for pitch down) and maybeee one up & one down for a small bonus in rolling momentum, while yaw is completely up to differential thrust – unless that design can function as the ball hinge shown on some of the 3d renditions shown before, which I don’t think it can.

Mainly the issue of engines, they want to get rid of the AL41 engines in the Su-57 as soon as possible. I think the last batch of Su-57s was delivered last year; since then I don’t think there have been any more. I’m sure they’re waiting for the Su-57M with better engines, better avionics, integration of the brand new R77M, and I think the integration of an R37M for the Su-57M. We’ll see.

The Su-57 is already an incredible aircraft, and I believe the Su-57M will bring many amazing new features.

My God, this was majestic! The T-50-9 with this new paint scheme is simply marvelous, as beautiful as my favorite aircraft (Su-30SM)

Algeria has most likely already received two copies of the Su57E

thats a big issue for viability of r-37 on it, at that point its just better to have the su57 function as datalink to an su35 instead of wasting the hypothetical stealth

Well, that is if you have Su-35 with R-37 available. And if hypothetical opponent has something that would detect and attack Su-57 from a range that surpass its detection range and reach of R-37. Not a lot of things with such capabilities, especially outside of NATO

detecting a su57 with massive missiles hanging from the fuselage is unlikely to be hard.

Detecting and attacking before Su-57 will yeet one at you.

russia’s potential enemies are all more than capable of doing so, algeria? probably not but they dont need su57 in the first place, such a massive waste of money

Well, Russia works on Izdelye 810 which is R-37 derivative that can fit in weapons bay.

afaik thats not ready yet

Ye, I know. But Su-57 aren’t used for intercepts in Russian service either. From what I heard - they mostly hunt down SAM sites (probably that’s why first missile openly shown in weapons bay is a anti-rad one). And Su-35 is capable of lighting up anything apart from a stealth fighter from range that exceeds R-37M reach. Some people close to airforce here say that Su-35s even took role of A-50 after those were withdrawn from frontline, patrolling the air and scanning with their N035

French mains happy.

watch Su-57E in french TT being better in pretty much everything including flight model than Su-57 in Russian TT

It’s the largest country in Africa, with all but one of its neighbors having hostile relations with it (and extremely cold relations with France too, which is a major power part of the NATO). Acquiring fifth generation aircraft is by no means a “waste of money” in this case…

The French TT will already get the Belgian F-35s, furthermore there is no reason for Algeria to be added to the French TT.

There’s always a reason to give France more things. We also need to buff Rafale more
