Sukhoi Su-57 Felon - Technical details, Analysis and Discussion

That makes sense, the original byelka radar is pretty old and is much less powerful than the uttam radar

Me-163 but 2025 colorized

not happening to be very real, Byelka is well integrated into the whole fire control system, alongside the IRST and ECM systems, all of them governed by the sensor fusion. It isnt as simple as “just replace the array” You need to design the one specifically of the size, radome and angles.

There are barely any official statements for su57 from the indian side, let alone the demand for a new radar on it. The only sources for these are DSA or IDRW which are VERY unreliable, if i am not wrong all of these arise from a reddit post of the “idea” of putting virupaksha on Su-57.

Also regarding this, a new GaN radar is being made for Su-57, George N confirmed this

isn’t it 8.0 and 6.0 at supersonic speeds?

p sure is +9g, but +6 at supersonic seems accurate

technically this is su-57e not su-57 but maybe they reduced max g load for air frame durability/lifetime or something

Or use different materials in the airframe, there could be quite a lot of different reasons why export airframe migth be inferior to domestic version, especially for something cutting edge in terms of technologies.

Don’t take brochure numbers too seriously, they’re more for show than super accurate values. We’d need some speed and weight numbers to get a clearer picture.

For instance, let’s assume an operational weight that’s 70% of the MTOW (so you have burned some fuel, but still have ordnance) from the brochure is the number used for the operational calculation: 34000 * 0. 7 = 23800 kg, then we do * 8G = 190400. Let’s say that’s at Mach 0.8.

Say the airframe is limited to 9G (by FBW or a structural limit), then 190400/9 = 21155kg – so you need to shed off some weight before pulling higher than 8G at M0.8.
