HMD I can agree with, Radar just no.
Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection
Actually not really, they need to rework what accounts as being dead…
If I’m understanding the issues correctly, the FM is pretty close to accurate performance but the Oswalds efficiency numbers in game in completely unrealistically low and cause it bleed all it’s speed. Gaijin has it at 0.43 IRCC and IRL estimates from scholarly articles put it at ~0.73. F-15 in game is ~0.66 and Grippen is ~0.57 for reference.
Yes. It’s broke immersion and you can trash all what you know about BFM. Overall in game planes don’t lose enough energy during turns not only jet’s
I’m believe it’s because of instructor and lack of knowledge by players trying turn as tight as they can
if you`ve got good sources, write a report about it on the issues page, might be noticed
Can’t, somebody had tried: Community Bug Reporting System
Rejected because the Oswalds number is an internal game number. We would need actual data from sources talking about the energy loss from turns, which I don’t believe manuals have. So there is no way to bug report it without it getting rejected.
do we have any source for this @MiG_23M ? since you have a lot of sources maybe you can find something about this
this information related to energy loss in turns would be related to Sustained turnrate since this is controlled by induced drag curves and wing efficiency primarily. If sustained turnrate is correct (which it is currently) then energy retention is correct too. If you want to retain better in air rb thats something to take up with instructor’s AoA though I think its acceptable right now, decreasing AoA in turns would harm mouse main instant turnrate and you’d have a sorta tornado effect going on where your sustained isnt horrible but you have no nose authority.
Based on current data available from Руководства по технической эксплуатации N 10 книги 1 and САМОЛЕТ СУ-27СК РУКОВОДСТВО ПО ЛЕТНОЙ ЭКСПЛУАТАЦИИ Книга 1 the flight model is essentially finished, all that remains to be fixed is the radar which should be able to lock further per Community Bug Reporting System and OEPS-27 being a copy and paste of MiG-29’s IRST which leaves it severely underperforming
That’s not true at all. For the same reason that different shapes of rectangles can have the same total area.
For example, the current installed thrust is only something like 1.9% less than the uninstalled thrust. The higher thrust meants it needs to have higher induced drag or lower wing efficiency to match the sustained turn rate charts. Include altitude loss / gain and we have incorrect specific excess energy with what appears to be correct sustained rate in the horizontal steady-state turn.
we dont have energy charts relating to speed or altitude being lost in turns so there’s no data to support anything relating to energy retention being wrong
No worries, there is data. I’m working on something right now.
knock yourself out, just beware of the conditions the devs are going with for testing if your data is in the classic “50% remaining fuel” configuration
What about SB flight stability? It’s really need to do crazy AoA without any input at low speeds??
All top planes meybe except M2K flying way more steady with addition of better maneuverability…
Use dampening SAS mode, it’s what it is for. Removing it removes the FBW restrictions and makes it hard to control.
Is this the only aircraft that loses missiles when the wings snap?
what?
No any aircraft with missiles on wings if wing snaps the part that is lost that had missiles on it will go to
weird i never noticed that
like happened in my mig 23 right now lost the r24s but still have the r60s
I don’t really know how to answer after spending in this game 100+ day as a fighter in SB mode…
I will use even more Broken FBW calling SAS here… or meybe not because damping is not FBW…
I don’t even mention different game here where Su 27 even without “FBW” (hard to call this thing using by soviet FBW) flying like a dream.
But meybe is a chance some one explain to me why at low speed above stall speed without evelator input plane instantly go into deep stall. If just some one can explain to me this phenomenon…
