Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection

IIRC in original TASS article it was said about Su-30SM2, even if it was named in later part of the interview

Even if they did, for what? Give us less of a reason to grind more? :))))

To be honest what scares me is that the SM2 and the Su-35 could get added only few months apart from each other, and if that happens, well, the Su-35 would be most likely be the way to go (for best performance in air RB at least). Leaving the SM2 as probably a second and “”“overshadowed”“” choice.

Having something comparable for a second spawn is useful for GFSB …

In that interview they talk about both. IMO they guy was lazy and said SM when referring to the SM2.

They (Russia) Don’t even need to use AL-41. 177c/s engine its “Better” and have 0 problem with Flanker that use AL-31FP.

Su-35s can carry more fuel. They remove the Airbrake and put fuel tank in that area. If you go with the 0.56 Sudo is talking about. It should be 6440 fuel for Su-35.

not if they decompress BRs

The others increased fuel capacity but not the fuel amount for normal load. Su-35 should be no different.

Even so, fuel load is considered based on range not % of total capacity. The AL-41 is more efficient than the earlier engines and does not need as much fuel to go as far. This means the weight is likely less for normal takeoff.

In any case, expect the weight to be above 19 tons, maybe not more than 20.

Well I don’t think the two of them would be so far apart in terms of BR placement

(Since they share features)

eventually su27sm will be foldered

We need to decide what info we going to use. There a lot of info posted on the Su-30sm that state 9400 fuel same as other Su-27. The Brochure of the Su-30smE even state 9300 for max fuel. Much lower that the page with the 9640 you’re referring for MK.

Same page referring to 9640. Talk about two plane MKI and MK’K. Maybe the Chinese MK has more fuel. I have read that they ask for it. But i haven’t read much on Chinese flankers to confirm it did have more fuel. For what we know the data on that page could be a mixture of two different plane. Like it state on * ** ***.

BBCRF also has confirm or claim that Su-30sm don’t have fuel on the Vertical stabilizer. In game Su-30sm don’t have fuel in them either. So the 9700 figure its just wrong.

Spoiler

We know that Russian would love to have more fuel on their planes. So why the Su-30sm don’t have the Suppose 9640 max fuel.?

Where is that from?

So your finally going to accept that Su-30smE=/=SM?

I never said they are the same

I said their top speed would be about the same

Since they have similar thrust and similar drag

The difference in induced drag due to difference in weight would be quite small …

And they are about the same … 1320 vs 1350 …

You didn’t answer … Where is this from?

ask @Yamahagi

Well, you posted it

Why do I feel it’s classified

Now. I feel the same…

I just noticed that the Su-34 centerline bar they modeled in the Su-30 is clipping into the tail boom, god I can’t wait for them to fix the 3d model problems

If it was classified so now its not anymore. You can find that picture on google.

Of course as source it is then unusable if it is classified.

Let’s see if we make it to the news again

“WT player leaked classified Su-30SM document to argue about Su-35’s normal fuel load”

Someone who actually knows Russian should look to see if it’s actually classified
