The R-73 on its first dev server was over tuned sure. But what was wrong with the Grom? Also isnt the grom currently already on the SU-34?

a while ago gaijin said that the r77-1 isn’t much better than the current r77, no idea if this is right or not but maybe we can get something worth shooting from more than 13/15km

There’s only the grom-2 which frankly doesn’t differ much from the grom-1 if you use the map to set your laser target, but they removed it because they feared it would break the grinding system and cuz some ppl were complaining other countries wouldn’t get a similar weapon.
It’s a 70km stand off weapon and it would have allowed a single Su-34 to destroy multiple bases.
In ground battles it wouldn’t have changed anything
gaijin likely didn’t want grom-1 making bombing in sim uber safe

Yeah the grom 1 was removed because you could launch all of them off the runway and kill a base like that, basically making base bombing worse since it didn’t involve flying much past your runway
I feel like T220 is a big deal. Finally a targeting pod for the flankers

They did it with UMPK and GROM-2…
Maybe that was an “keeping thing”. Like to keep KH-38MT(never carried IRL), but remove GROM-1
Wow, i feel like this could have been easily solved by artificially limiting the range. Much like they do now for Fox 3’s and Fox-1’s. Just cut the range in half, its still stand off but requires some flying. Problem solved.
The missiles wont use it though…more for dumb bombs and recon.
It’s possible to do the same with grom-2… The laser limit can be surpassed by selecting the target through the map

It depends on how good it’ll be, like @unluckyg said gaijin once stated that it doesn’t differ much from the og r-77, we should wait for the devserver to test it

True and Gaijin likes to combine features from various editions the last Su-27SM is a mongrel made from different components and upgrades.
We are not going to see an R-37M anytime soon

Is it just me who shares the opinion that we should receive the su30sm2 and not the su30sm1? explicitly for the better engines and radar, the eurofighter didn’t come as an early variant, also the rafale dint either and it is literally from 2019… idk… I’m thinking more about the airframe performance and radar, it would even be less of work to keep the su30sm2 competitive in the future, like rn the loadout would be limited to r73/r77 and in the future it could recieve better weapons to stay competitve like r73m/r74m /r77m and etc.
The only difference in loadouts is the ability to carry the r37m
