Its insane for how long this behavior of radar is present in WT… i hope for fix in next patch. Based on last one, they seem to do QoL changes and hopefully this gets adressed too. Together with scan coverage altitudes next to TDC as they change based on attitude and i seriously doubt they are accurate even when level flight.

They might introduce it without RWR at 12.3-12.7 :D

I don’t know either. In the past you could argue that during the Fox 1 era R-27ER made MiG-29 and Su-27 very good and that their flight model was a way to balance them out, but now the advantage has shifted pretty big in favor of US and NATO.

Without afterburner, we found data consistent that the Flanker was underperforming by 0.4Gs of pull, but Gaijin didn’t feel like making any changes since they believed the FM was “close enough.”

Since we lack information on how Gaijin calculates non-static thrust in the air, we can only speculate as to the Flanker has overtuned drag because thrust is overperforming, and this affects its energy retention, but we have no concrete evidence.

But I think that the bigger problem is that flight models for other aircraft are overtuned. F-16A is overperforming, F-15A is overperforming, Mirage 2000 is overperforming in sustained rate, the canard-deltas are overperforming in that regard as well, etc.

And then you have the Fulcrum and Flanker which are either correct or slightly underperforming in comparison to their diagrams. F-15C and F-16C mostly conform to their diagrams and you can definitely win against a F-15C, WVR scenario in a Fulcrum or Flanker if you know what you are doing.

i wonder if that can be as sign for nerf
“and is now quite close to the graphs of available and maximum thrust turns listed in the work with the wing loading of 305 kg/m2 indicated for comparison at low and medium speeds, and at high speeds of over 900 km/h according to the instrument, the aircraft in the game is noticeably better.”

Spoiler

what is said there?

@BBCRF
What is this mod exactly saying? Does it make any sense?

You know that’s weird (and it also being pointed out on Ru forum I think) is, by the looks, they putting together regular Su-27 and Su-27SK which is IIRC heavier (not much if memory serves right, but still)

well, dev assume that ghraps in SK manual are from regular S, more than possible tho

Bruh, if they nerf that boat even more, i will actually laugh, today i merged with flanker while in gripen… withing 2 seconds, i was inside his turn and he barely changed direction.

I doubt since previously they refused to implement minor changes to the fm, it won’t change much if they do so anyway

They also refused to implement major changes in some cases (the F-5s for example).
The F-5s are overperforming by a ton but Gaijin hasn’t done anything about it because they regard it as a “legacy FM.”

This suggests that the developer is incredibly dumb

As I expected.

What is being said of the Flanker flight model on the Russian-speaking forum? I’d assume that people are even more angry there.
