Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection

SAPSAN-E for Su-27SM

Any FM revisions? I personally don’t care about the missiles at all

Haven’t seen any

More momentum & inertia equals less ability to maneuver. Newton’s 1st law.

Another note…
HMS modelled for our pilots!

New cannon sounds too.

IRST is of the right now. Excellent attention to detail. HMS now has a faint glow to emulate the glare off the cockpit visor too.

Pilot models also uptaded, looks amazing in my book.

The oxygen mask is actually soviet style. Very cool

Yea and new Nato pilot models also looks really cool.

Are all Nato pilots have same style or is there any difference between them? Sadly couldnt check the Dev server by myself.

I think Swedish ones were different style or some Nordic country I forgot who.

Is this performance accurate for N001VEP? A fixed search area seems odd for its age.

It’s a copy paste of the original N001 Mech it appears…

If it’s actually more sensible, hope it gets fixed.

Yeah, the N001VEP should have resolved all the issues that the Soviet Union was not able to in the N001 mech in it. For it not to have additional search views is very hard to believe.

I will look into it though more too.

I still believe even the N001 Mech should have additional FoV modes. But I have yet to find evidence of it.

It definitely was not a copy paste radar of the Mig-29’s N019 Rubin developed by Phazotron-NIIR as it is in-game.
NIIP Tikhomirov just used the same method development team Rubin did at Phazotron by using modified Sapfir-23 radar dishes. The N001 Mech’s dish is made larger & has a similar, but different transmitter (why it guides ERs without upgrade).

However, Gaijin modelled the same modes because NIIP Tikhomirov also used the same Ts-100 digital processor that the Mig-29’s N019 Rubin uses. (Evidence that GJ does pay attention to very small intricate details)

Anyone here have the dev server? I need someone to help me test front aspect IRST range

I found out why the Su-27 does not have additional FoV modes.

The N001 Mech uses modified Cassegrain antenna taken from the Mig-23ML. Just like the Mig-29 radar & why it is sometimes called the Sapfir-29.
These radar dishes are obsolete & no longer used in advanced Flankers & are incapable of directional beam control like the Mig-29SMT & even the new Mig-21 Bison.

That is why both the Su-27s & Older Mig-29s have the same FoV search zones.
The reason is a narrow beamwidth for feed. The feed horn or feed element in a Cassegrain antenna must have a narrower beamwidth (higher gain) to focus its radiation on the smaller secondary reflector. This is different from front-fed dishes, where the feed illuminates the wider primary reflector.

Unfortunately team, since the Su-27 radars that have Cassegrain antennas, that is also undeniable proof the Su-27 has no ability to use the HMS with the radar. As much as the Flanker is my all-time favorite aircraft in the world, reality supersedes favoritism.

These Radars never had Radar HMS compatibility. Its technically impossible. The OEPS-27 & OEPS-29 were exclusively for IR weapons.

I knew the entire time & just did not say anything.

The radar HMS in the Su27 & Su-27SM is a completely made-up feature in War Thunder.
The only Russo-Soviet designed aircraft in-game that are technologically capable of using the HMS with the radar is the Mig-29SMT & Mig-21 Bison.

This is not a HMS of the OEPS-29

LMFAOOOOO

man you keep repeating this over and over, and spamming it on all threads while it is completely wrong, you can mechanically slave the radar dish to follow an hms even if it is a cassegrain type radar.

for reference the radar of an f4j, and as you can see is also a cassegrain

This is not a HMS of the OEPS-29 & OEPS-27

LMFAOOOOO.

The fact that some random user is upset & uses an American radar to prove a fake Soviet technology is the most biggest cope I have seen to date.
