Hello flanker friends, anyone know the status of that bug report to add like 12 or 14 something countermeasures?

it was shoved into a “forget about it” box. Which is kinda funny because they did change 3D model of SM2 on dev (added HMS sensors in the cockpit and removed pylon stubs).

Smin told me they currently have nothing planned for it, so, more months of wait ahead.

Damn that’s unfortunate, I just came back to play the Su-30SM2 a bit after spamming Golden Eagle and the relative lack of countermeasures is a bit jarring. Wouldn’t catch me playing the J-15T in the future unless they add ECM or something I am not dealing with 48 countermeasures.

I find the flanker amount to be ok, 14 chaff/flares more is definitely good for endurance, but I understand what you mean, when I got back to the SM2 after playing the GE, I noticed how much I got used to spamming them xD, had to re-learn how to save.

MiG-29K (if Fantom report will be chosen as a more substantial) will teach you how to predict if missile is ready to be chaffed by pure intuition

Btw, what is ESM? I saw this on the SM2 but what does it do or how to use it?

you can switch to it with a new button promt. It basically scans the area and shows targets on new UI for ARM locking

With average velocity and max velocity from manufacturer, early Kh-31 should top out at Mach about Mach 3.4 at altitude and over Mach 2.2 at sea level.

For D model, it is 3.75 at altitude and 2.5+ ASL.

Do you have any screenshots of top speed at altitude and sea level for the early and D models?

no i dont, didnt do any real testing

most i did was spawn into the test drive and shoot it at the boats/ AA there

it’s pretty difficult to cath the top speed of Kh-31, but you can scroll up, i had some screenshots from early days of dev

i wasn’t bothered with recording in custom lobbies at the time, but at high altitude it’s pretty much impossible to check because of the missile trajectory. But Kh-31 reached it maximum velocity at sea level with no problems if you launch it from high speed


Speaking of Kh-31s, PD got a proper model (with AD label on a texture lol). AD is still using Kh-31A model for now
