-“We practically doubled the range of the radar in comparison with 30SM. For ground targets, naval targets, air targets, every type of them.”
-“2 times more?”
-“Yes, nearly 2 times more”
so explain to me how doubling the range of the Bars, so 2x 150km is supposed to get you the 350 - 400km of the Irbis
They say they upgrade the radar. They say they introduce avionics of the Su-35S to the Su-30SM2. They say they double range, of which the N035 possess double the range of the N011.
Pretty damn obvious what happened there, lol.
400km is the most out of the world figure they put on a brochure that would only be achievable with both TWTs scaled to the tightest scan pattern. NIIP put it at 350-400km against head-on targets and 150km in chase, as does KRET.
N011M was 120-140km against a 5dbsm target and 60km in chase, or the N011M domestic variant which is 110-150km against the same and 60km in chase. If taking the Bars-R’s values as the relative baseline, about twice the range is the realistic figure seeing as the N035’s published ranges translates to ~300km against baseline LO aircraft.
That’s twice the effective range, or slightly over if you want to be pedantic about manufacturer’s claims and ignore real-world effectiveness.
It’s just another news source, completely unaffiliated with the manufacturer, that provides no links or video footage to substantiate its claims.
Furthermore, according to this article, the Su-30SM2 has already been delivered in december 2023 to the ВКС equipped with the AL-41 engine, whereas the Военная приемка in summer 2024 segment featured a prototype—an aircraft for which the installation of the AL-41 is merely being planned
