GNSS is kinda overblown. Realistically it serves to minimise or aleviate INS drift.
It is important under specific scenarios , for instance in very long range shots where the carrier has to defend and thus drop DL , so mid course navigation accuracy becomes important in order to ensure that in the terminal phase the target will be within the missile seeker FOV and range. But even that assumes that the target didn’t change its flight vector in the meantime.
Long carrier radar vision ( which ensures being able to provide DL without being exposed to retaliation ) and reliable DL connections are way more important imo.

interesting to hear official confirmation that R-77M is being used in combat, the high efficiency comes from the dual pulse extending the missiles range (and possibly a new seeker? i don’t know the details).

Maybe, but Khibiny-M has been around since like the 2010s iirc. So calling it a “New Develpoment” would be odd.
Also whatever it is, it looks slightly different from the basic L265M10R. Namely from what looks like an intake on op of the ECM pod. (I maybe incorrect since this is the closest I’ve seen an ECM pod from this angle but it seems absent from most photos of the Su-35S with the Khibiny-M system.)

It’s a pilot interview, my guy can simply not go into details or specifics. Bro could call both missiles R-77 and cooler R-77 if he’d want to.
Same here, pilot either doesn’t bother with details, or Russia just tries to finish up the R-73s they have in strock since it is more economically viable than wasting more modern R-74Ms on a drone.

iirc the new “Fatter” Pods were first seen at around 2022-23?
That would make more sense as to why it was called a “New Development”.
It might be a futher imrpovement, or something of the sort.
