Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 3)

i mean you are on 12 mins of fuel, a lot of the aircrafts can actually supercruise on very low fuel load and clean wing. IRL most likely nobody tested such things because it it hella dangerous to be at 10km with only 12 mins of fuel

supercruising at high altitude isnt really that impressive

the Mig-29 is able to supercruise given a high enough altitude

fuel load dosent affect top speed only acceleration

Fair point as I also had fuel consumption off.

I was also testing the Eurocanards on min fuel to see how close they’d get to their marketed numbers.

is it tho? I thought that you wll be slower, at least for aircrafts that are engine limited.

you will accelerate slower bc you plane has more mass and as a result more inertia

when an aircraft is engine limited it simply means that the engine isnt strong enough anymore to overcome the drag

the weight of the aircraft only starts to matter if you have to fly at high AoA to keep the plane in the air because then you are using part of your engine to overcome gravity to keep the plane in the air instead of relying on lift

the base Su-27 can supercruise at that altitude with a full missile load

and yet it isnt said to be capable of supercruising, just like the F-15A or F-16A
the reason for that is that they cant do it on lower altitude unlike the Eurofighter and Rafale for example

the Su-30SM2 isnt able to supercruise at sea level with a full missile load

but you can after you fire a few missiles

and the Su-27SM is able to do it after you fired all but 2 of your missiles

Yeah I see the difference now, I’ve only got around testing this stuff lately because I didn’t particularly care at the time they dropped.

Managed to hit Mach 1.1 in EFT at barely 500 meters, which is impressive, while at 9000+ I could reach well over 1.4.

Spoiler

Most curious about the F-22 numbers, when it drops one day.

Should be 1.8 at altitude.

Same with J-20.

even everybodies favorite mach3 steel brick can supercruise at high alt

nah J-20 is mid because the chinese forgot to give it a gun

It’s beautiful though, enough for me :)

Also chad enough at low alt :)

isn’t this should be for a “normal” loadout? Considering that IRL jets almost never fly with full loadouts.

well
we dont use normal loadouts in WT

that is why i used one with a full missile load, simply because it is the most relevant for WT

And to be fair only pylon drag profile is considered/modelled IIRC

no pylon drag isnt modeled in WT

the missiles add a bit of drag but not the pylons

This is why the F-18 can go mach 1.02 with and without pylons attached.
When it can only do that IRL without pylons.

Ah I got that mixed up then.

Haven’t seen much on supercruise figures for it
