Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 3)

Table from Fomin book gives all dual seater Flankers Mach 2.0 speed limitations. But UAC official website gives Mach 1.75 for Su-30SME
Dor single seaters Fomin gives Mach 2.35, UAC websie gives 2.25 for Su-35
So i am not sure who to believe honestly

Older Sukhoi site says 1.9 for MKI derivatives.
Or at least Su-30s “With canard surfaces installed”

I have no idea why, but SME is rated at 1.75 while SM is 1.9.

something something downgraded export version? Different glass, different hydraulics or structural elements? Honestly thisis very weird

That would be my best guess. I haven’t the faintest idea why SME is slower than SM.

Can easily see the Su-35 at well over 2500 kmh, obviously it won’t be easily reachable in normal air RB matches, but something like nuke thunder could work.

i don’t think that it is slower, i think it is breaking apart earlier

These also have different weights listed, so it might be different materials. @GitGood

You can tell which one is SME and which one is SM by the noticable drop in quality.

That alone together with one way dl would make it quite the good long range missile, don’t know how gaijin will implement aesa arh seekers though.

SM weight is the same as for the 30MK

and the SME weight is the same as for the “Su-30MK with canards and TVC”

Meteor, MICA NG and Meteor MLU all feature 2 way datalink IRL. In general, all the newest long range missiles feature 2 way datalink

They will give the Su-35 the Izd. 177S engine to make it different than the SM2. Trust

Is there official documentation saying that certain flankers are capable of supercruising, and maybe some numbers too in that regard?

Considering their thrust is similar to AL-41, lmao

Su-35 should be able to supercruise iirc.

Hmm I see.

With SM2 and level flight I was able to kinda keep this speed, it maybe dropped by 1 kmh every 3 or 4 minutes, still pretty high.
