No probs, we all been there.

But he’s right, aside from countermeasure amount and weight differences they are practically same due to Gaijin’s modelling.

In fact SM2 might be better due to canards and less weight.

Canards make flankers worse in game

You got maws and less drag too btw
And a better irst(?)

Big man, canards are a bad thing for a Flanker, increased drag. They were added to the flankers because of the balancing shift, either due to heavy avionics in the nose (MKI, 27M) or due the lift increase in the rear (Su-33), Su-35S will have better energy retention at pretty much every speed range

Just add su27m 710

IRL as well

Yeah but that does’t mean the 35 is a sidegrade under many aspects, the SM2 will hold some strenghts while the 35 will hold some others, hence why they’ll be practically the same.

Few examples of what the Su35 will hold against the SM2 is less drag, usable IRST and MAW.

Top speed as well, M 2.25 vs M 1.75 on a SM (SM2 should be similar because it isn’t a engine limit, but airframe one, specifically cockpit)

That’s right, and seeing as the SM2 already wants to go beyond its limit in the game, it means that the 35 will hit some considerably high speeds.

Can definitely feel that the AL-41’s got some more output beyond the mach 2.11 limit of SM2.

My man unless you’re flying in space and chasing speed records it will not matter in wt too much.

Yeah but it will also have worse instantaneous turning capabilities as well, it also has increased weight.

Meh, MAW is nice but other features aren’t as important.

Not necessarily, Su-35 still uses TVC for turning, canards don’t make you turn harder, they make you more stable as super high AOA.

Does this apply for flankers only or in general?

Cause as far as I know canards gives you better instantaneous capabilities alongside with stability at high AOA’s.

Still even if thats not the case Su-35 will still have worse dogfight capabilities due to increased weight unless its an energy fight I believe.

And with reduced drag it will hit them much faster as well. This will help quite a lot during early game, giving you the best position and allowing you to send your missiles before SM2 can.
And, well, right now only Su-35S can potentially get 77Ms since it is the only one that was seen with AKU-ASP installed.

Firing ground ordnance throught IRST without the need of TGP is not that bad if you ask me.

Or considering that IRST’s are able to fire R-77-1’s in game currently I think having the OLS 35 with more range might come in handy sometimes.

We both know gaijin doesnt care that, cough cough Al-41 engines and IRBIS on SM2, cough cough.

Becaue you now can actually pull said AoA and not flatspin your ass. Su-27M would probably turn better than Su-27SM because of the canards, but once you get TVC into the game, canards advantage of stability becomes pretty meaningless

Dude almost every modern Russian jet can do that, its not something special to Su-35.

In fact 29M should be able to guide guided munitions through IRST.

In practice both planes will able to launch in similiar conditions.

it will just be OEPS-27, gaijin completely gave up on Russian IRSTs, if MiG-29KR is of any evidence
