I just saw this so sorry I didn’t address this, to me it might be quite possible as generally Ukrainian airplanes are equipped with infrared guided and SARH guided missiles and stay low to the ground giving them lower probabilities of launching missiles at a good aspect against a very high and fast opponent which will go cold after launching their payload. Though their F-16s do have access to aim-120c8s however due to the constraints above may not be able to achieve ranges similar to an r-37m or r-77-1 launched relatively faster and from a higher altitude.
To me, it’s like saying x nation has launched 1000s or R-77s surely one must have hit the Eurofighter 80 kilometres away only carrying 2-4 meteors

I have no doubts F-35 is a good strike platform but its course must also be plotted properly with respect to radar stations if I remembered correctly, please correct me if I’m wrong.
That issue is much worse for the Su-35, the stealth on the F-35 lets it slip through and get closer before it launches its missiles for better pk
F-35’s main boon is the sensor package able to ‘talk’ to lots of assets. The gathering of data from the F-35 or from another platform can go both ways via DL.
That the F-35 can do so while being harder to nail down in the process is an additional layer.

Last year you had strike packages of IDF aircraft operating deep over Iranian airspace - you don’t do something like that because the Iranians just feel charitable…
Public info would suggest that they were used as intended - to augment larger numbers of F-15/F-16 strike aircraft. Either in terms of targeting or getting into the IADS and making certain command and control functions ‘stop working’.
Like when F-35 beat modern Russian made air defense in 2019?

The situation described by the person originally is quite harsh on both aircraft and I don’t think either will be able to make it out alive, with no additional help from outside ground or air radars. So I can’t really say which is better for this poorly planned mission except the Su-35 can run away better and the F-35 gets detected way later
