Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 2)

According to KnAAPO

“The air-to-air weapon suite includes medium-range missiles of the R-27 type – R-27T1, R-27ET1 heat-seeking missiles, R-27R1, R-27ER1 semi-active radar-homing missiles, R-27P1 and R-27EP1 missiles; RVV-AE medium-range active radar-homing missiles; and R-73E short-range heat-seeking missiles.”

No RVV-SD for some reason.

here’s the website if you wanna look for yourself, I didn’t see anything about what radar it has though .

MK2 would be tech tree

Also the archived site has some text hidden behind a now defunct media player, so I’ll post it all here for anyone interested.

  • The Su-30MK2 gallery.

I meant the difference between them IRL.

also the .zip file contains this video which… Considering it was made in 2009 definitely has editing which matches the era lmao.

this is from NIIP dated 2016 which mentions the RVV-SD

The original Su-30MK can also use the KH-59 and KH-31P

Spoiler

According to Tikhomirov, the Su-30MK2 received additional Baget, allowing it to use the KH-31A anti-ship missile

Thanks!

RVV-MDs and R-27EPs would also be fun to play with lmao.

Also, the table in the website doesn’t mention the RVV-SD.

I assume the Modernization section is planned upgrades?

I’ll look a bit to see if I can find any sources or images of RVV-SD on and MK2s.

idk then tbh, since the Su-27SM3 that uses the N001VP (domestic version of the VEP) supposedly has R-77-1 integrated

I couldn’t find anything about the M2/MK2 carrying RVV-SD.

There might be something on this site, but I’m not sure, It won’t load for me.

@GitGood can you check if it’s region blocked or if it’s just the site being weird? since it’s a gov.ru domain and… y’know, they’re kind of at war, I wouldn’t be surprised if It’s region locked to Russia.

I also checked the old NIIP site to see if N001 VEP is compatible with R-77-1, and I didn’t see anything about it.

That’s what I had in mind when I was typing that out lmao.

This is from the old NIIP site, doesn’t say anything about the R-77-1.

I’m not sure if it’s just outdated or what, since I remember people saying the 27SM3 can carry the R-77-1

it mentions the same with the SD and MD at the bottom

oh my god i’m stupid.

I posted the same link you did here.

Hi stupid, I’m dad. The site that you asked me to check does open for me, but no mention of RVV-SD on MK2 page. But you and Balta already figured it out I see

Thank you.

We’re back where we started.

We can’t find out if the MK2 can carry RVV-SD or not.

The NIIP site only mentions RVV-SD under the modernization section, and I can’t find any images of RVV-SD or R-77-1 on MK2 or M2’s.

@kizvy Do you have anything on the N001 VEP saying it’s compatible with R-77-1/RVV-SD?
