i should give the 29SMT a chance then, it is probably still a pig fm wise but at least radar is better. As for the Flanker, i agree about radar. HPRF HDN is reliable on Su27S , i didn’t really have much success with MPRF PD scan.
I usually just use the HMD on the 27S, slamming people WVR with R-27ERs is hella fun.
The radar is VASTLY superior. I’d say it’s better than most stuff at 13.7, maybe even 14.0.
Plus it gets a ton of countermeasures. So that’s nice.
Shooting down premium players (especially the undertiered ones) is a feeling you can’t describe
it seems 13.3 13.7 is a sweet spot right now. i rarely have full upters in either one. Plus, you get plenty of clueless enemies too

I start off with a Long range ER shot with datalink only against a rapidly closing target. Then as the range closes i switch to HMD. If he notches or goes cold ET with ER usually does much better than any ARH missile can do.
Probably second best after 30SM2, Only if it didn’t bleed it’s energy like a Mirage III.
Nah, there’s plenty of radars better than it.
But most of those are ESA, it’s like comparing apples to oranges.
The SMT (in my opinion) has the best mechanical radar in the game.
I wonder how the Su-30SM is doing now that it isn’t tippy top tier.
I bet in 13.3-14.3 sim it’ll be running the game.

i was totally expecting them to give R73s to 29 instead they gave it to 141 which does not make sense at all. having used R27T/Rs on 141, they aren’t a bad missile at all. 27T particularly is pretty lethal at close ranges with it’s irccm and R is free CQB headon kills against most people.
