Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 2)

Old photos from Su-57 tests with new engine. It looks pretty much identical to the nozzle on Izd 177

This is from 2023

And this one is fairly recent but before the news about Izd 177. As you can see both engines feature serrated nozzle on Su-57

maybe another su57 with 177 engine and another with AL51 :))))

Don’t forget premium export version of Su-57

we should see 35s and 30s with AL51 at some point in the future

Izd 177 and 177S also are 5th generation engines. So he could mean those

given the modularity of the su35s airframe and how similar the AL51s design is to the AL41, I dont think it’ll be hard for this process to move quickly if they want, the hardest part the engines actual development is already done

For Su-35 AL-51 might be an easier fit than smaller 177 I agree on that, but it might be not the best economical decision. We don’t really know how complex and expensive 51, but we can deduce that 177 is the more budget version of a 5th Gen engine

maybe they will or until we got su57 with al51 in techtree first

Oh come on, no airbrake on the su35?

Uses rudders and extends flaps to slow down, kinda like the rafale airbrake

Do a cobra on final approach to slow down enough

what if I gotta slow down from mach 2 tho :')

J out?

So it cant use Ruder while using Said airbrake?

Yes or crash in the ground it also slows you down significantly

Probably still can, like the rafale can still use its flaps while airbrake is out

R-27ET is interesting wonder if they use them to hunt down drones

having more platforms with the engines is gonna be cheaper because of “economy of scale”.

I thought it was the T, a bit harder for me to tell from this front aspect

i’m not sure Ts are even produced anymore, chief

they probably have a lot from old stockpiles.
