Actually if you consider proper stealth jet concept its not even a new design, F-22 Raptor achieved superior stealth capabilities, avionics and most likely better flight performance in 1990-2000’s.
Russia just barely catching up with China and USA when it comes to 5th gens, tho their effort should be appreciated.

I agree the F-22 and B-2 are a miracle, building stealth aircraft is notoriously hard and to build one that flies like the F-22 is a testament to the design bureaus that produced it.
mig31 is not a fighter and gripen is from the 80s
so F22/su57 both will be superior to eurocanards cus both are more modern.
Gripen first test flight was 91.
Buddy we are going around in circles no one is saying the 27/30/35 are not good airframes just they are a little behind what the US and the Eurocanards. But as stated the Su-57 and Su-75 will change that.

Yes they will be, which is why Europe has bought the F-35 and are developing their own Gen 6 airframes.

I wonder ıf Turkey will join Tempest project, iirc UK MOD stated that they wanted to see Turkey joining the program after what happened on F-35 project.
Honestly Turkey’s domestic 5th gen doesnt show too much promises in my book and Tempest could be perfect solution for them alongside with EFT’s.

Functionally these aircraft have similar systems and performance to 4.5 gens but also have LO on top
And considering F22 and most Eurocanards were devolped and entered service around the same time sayin it is more modern doesn’t really work
Everything has its limits, that’s true. But if you put the extremely expensive and complex development of modern aircraft on one side of the equation, and on the other side the old MiG 29 9-12, which can fire modern Western ammunition based on “one box added to the avionics”… an extremely cheap and effective solution…

It is, kinematically the MiG 29 is excellent, and yes modernising these systems to use HARMS and HAMMERS is a great use of that airframe.
The modernization -29 was very simple and inexpensive, compared to the development of the Su 57, which is better, but at what cost…
Very different roles, you wouldn’t trust a 29 to go undetected and hunt down EAWACS airframes and tankers

More drag so sustained turn performance above 1000 ais Is worse than even prebuff
But low speed and one turn performance is pretty much identical to the buffed Version
