Yeah, it’s actually one of the best 13.7, I think only in the second place before Gripen.
But, from my experience at least, 11B feel lackluster to me, probably due to how borderline useless PL-8B at close quarter compared to R-73, I really wish there’s an option to carry PL-5EII instead tbh.
What makes you think it would have limited stealth?
Well it isn’t as stealthy as it’s rivals so in terms of F-22/35 and J-20 it is behind in Stealth technology.
The IRST on the front of the Su-57 is a no go for jets trying to reduce RCS.
and the relatively small IRST will majorly affect the RCS?

IIRC isn’t there a patent or something out there comparing its RCS to the Eurofighter and the Eurofighter has a smaller RCS than it or am I misremembering
In terms of stealth it does, it’ can reflect radar waves back as it is not a controlled surface.

Can assure you, all comp(tourney) players will also tell you the same. Su27sm is better than the J-11B because.
- R-77s turn more, much more
- You get 8xR-77s than 6xpl-12s
- A flanker flight model requires R-73s at this point, so even if J-11B has like a 1% better fm, it wont matter cuz it doesnt have R-73s
- Radar in air rb doesnt matter, when you can usually use HMS, and thats how you play most jets anyway, on top of that most skilled players can easily use 27sm’s radar.
- ERs are still relatively important(even in tournaments 27sm with R-27ERs, is heavily used) which J-11B lacks, or the occasional ET.

In what world is it fair the Su-27 can bring 10/12 missiles but the competition can bring a max of 8

Hornets(late C) do exist in the tourneys, iirc. 12 missiles. The only 14.0s are Hornets or F-15E variants tho in tourneys. 4v4s/air superiority tournament which is what the most popular and part of esports main major every year.
So su27sm with 12 missile isnt the only jet.
Yet Su-27 has the best FM compared to the F-15E and the Hornet. And they both use 120s which we know are the worst ARHM in game.
It wouldn’t be the meta choice if it was balanced

Again, the flanker fm is better for high altitudes going fast, if dogfights are consider the hornet wins against the flankers which happens alot, gripens hornets, J-10s smack it. But also hornets gets 2 more fox3s in total(10 vs 8 for the 27sm) than the flanker which is kinda justified for the lack of performance.
Mirages with mica ems used to be in it but then got removed which were far more deadly than a 27sm.

So they removed Mirages because MICA was too good but allowed Su-27s to have the 3 best missiles at that level.
R-27ER, R-77 and R-73. Hornets are trash they don’t accelerate they dont hold energy and they carry the 120 or the 9M. I could see the Gripen being good in some kind of memey way with trhe R-Darter but in terms of longevity the Gripen has 6 missiles.
To balance it you need to assign a points system to each airframe and each missile.
That way you prevent the inevitable teams of just Su-27s
Shape is the real issue you spend all this time using angles to prevent Radar returns then you put that bulbous mount on the front of the airframe. A cover will work to an extent but as soon as the 57 goes into combat it will want the data from the IRST system and the Radars

Meta jets are flankers, gripens, J-10A, (F-2 sometimes) before it was all mirages & gripens w 1 flanker.
Teams usually are 2 gripens & 2 flankers or 2 J-10A/2flanker etc. you do end up needing a flight model that can dogfight, because most maps are either flat or have enough terrain to allow most teams to rip apart jets with poor dogfighting fm.
Mirages were removed cuz teams sometimes ran 4 mirages or 3 mirages 1 flanker. Now its a bit more balanced
Pro players know how to flare R-73s n chaff R-77s any day cuz none of them have a busted seeker respectively. While yes they are better, the game just has good mechanics to keep them limited, and if there is an ER on the way, just fire back an arh and the jet has to drop the lock.

any IRST will not be of much use at long range
it only is of use at closer ranges at mid to close ranges where it is able to provide a weapons grade lock
or for WVR/ dogfights thats most likely why it is ontop of the nose instead of the bottom to have better positive elevation for dogfights
unlike the F-35 or even Mig-23 where they have little use in WVR due to their positioning
especially in the Mig-23 it was used to help the radar in look down but then on the Mig-29/ Su-27 it was put on top to provide better angles for closer ranges

See, Normally I’d agree. But in actuality we know SO LITTLE about what they can actually do that Gaijin’s probably just gonna make up everything, and toss in everything they can find a source for.
So, IRST, HMD, and more for the F-22
And probably an upgraded HMD for the Su-57.
It’s not “F-22 should be better” It’s “F-22 is probably better irl”.

I can’t argue with that, if the map sizes remain the same the Radars we have in game now will be able to still detect Stealth aircraft.
