Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection (Part 2)

Oh well then it maybe from a targeting pod, or still, the Upgraded IRST with a Lazing feature.

Dem pods are as rare as unicorns in the military, so i doubt that those Su-30s are using them on the video. I think 36Sh-01 has TV channel in it, but probably no laser designator.

That would also explain it.

Why does only mica get a different seeker?

Why is the broken rafale so handheld?

because of the Rafale bug report cabal (they will mass flag you if you bring them up)

Not sure on that chief, IIR uses a thermal image not just thermal tracks. If you do not completly erase that image the missile will not lose track.

It’s why BOL flares should be more effective.
If Gaijin follow that mindset they are just implementing another system incorrectly.

You do realize, in a 16v16 the 30sm2 cant send out multiple hard to notch ERs to multiple targets?

R-77-1s can be fired from the notch but they arent a mica with a better seeker and neither have TVC.

And you need to datalink them or the R-77-1s will miss the target if fired from +90° . If youve played the 30sm2 the bigger factor has always been the engines, and sometimes the occasional ER but you can just notch the radar and the ER falls from the sky.

Rafale on the other hand 8x micas with better POV seekers that can reconnect better also. That is more handheld then a guy in 30sm2 trying to use an ER one at a time or wait for his R-77-1s to complete their narnia of a circle w datalink to hit the same guy.

This^^

Was bug reported, also anyone ever wondered why Buk M3’s ARH missile got 3.0 Angle half sensitivity lol? 😂 i have questions about a missile ive never seen anywhere irl get such a good seeker but eh, the datalink on sams are so weak that it doesnt matter.

Well, at least we know the performance of R-37M seeker when it eventually hits War Thunder

Lol i swear. I do hope tho meteor and pl-15 get them as well. I mean it would be pointless bringing in new missiles just to make them as easily notchable as the old counterparts. Hey ho… it is what is.

I just dont want this game to become like Fox-3 on release when it was just “climb high, drop 8 AMRAAMs, collect 4-6 kills, rearm and repeat”. Would be extremely boring gameplay loop

Yes, that would be painful and absolutely annoying where you need to defend soon as you spawn lmao with such missiles. But i hope ew/ecm mechanics can help us with such issues. I mean regardless of what we want, these things are coming wether we like it or not. A new mechanic such as iir missiles or long range radar missiles or ew or 5th gens whatever you want to call them, will come in soon time.

What does this mean in practical terms?

Its not as simple to explain, but the seeker sees alot less around the target, so chaff basically is tracked less. The POV i refer to see is prolly the diameter of a circle of area the radar of the missile it sees which is much less that of a normal arh seeker is prolly the best way to put it.

This has nothing to do with notch gates, but it just means its susceptible to chaff in a sense.

it’s a “gun camera”. No idea where it is located though

Edit: It’s part of the HUD system?

Then this is not a good game as the 120 can counter nothing and only the R-77-1 and MICA are worth carrying. No one would swap their R-77-1 for 120s and that says a lot.

R-37M will be the best missile in the game because Gaijin need it to be, Meteor will not have it’s variable burn rate it will be modelled as a dual burn missile which is incorrect

No shit, who tipped you off, Sherlock?

At least try to be someone who can be taken seriously. Your blatant hatred towards anything Russian is reaching clown levels.

PL-12 still works, AAM-4 still works, Derby still works. Hell, even 120 works if you have iq above room temperature. Do they need a buff right now? Yes, to make it more balanced out overall. Are they completely useless? No, you are just showing your skill issue out to the public.
