This is also not exclusive to AESAs, PESAs are likely underperforming by comparable amounts.
So, fun fact, while IIR isnt implemented properly, its not actually underperforming by that much. IIR is still flareable from longer ranges, particularly from certain aspects, and they can still be susceptible to flares in cases with high background clutter. Also depending on the method of target recognition they can still be fairly susceptible to pre-flaring.
The tests you see of stuff like the aim-9x ignoring like a hundred flares from an F-4 are in fairly ideal situations.

You’re not giving the full context. Su-30SM2 can literally launch R-27ER (much harder to notch than AIM-120 and the best kinematic performance in the game) and best all range ARH R-77-1 while being immune to counterfire. That’s what people are claiming is the problem. Rafale has to leave the notch to launch MICA and lacks range performance, that can get it killed. You get a jet that never has to expose itself to danger unless you screw up, and it has the largest number of missiles in the game with amazing performance and easily the strongest radar in the game.
And again, it’s literally just the Big3 that react like nothing is wrong when their stuff breaks balance and makes the game unplayable for everyone else. RU isn’t special or abnormal.
Rafale had one of the most replied-to threads and literally popped up in random discussions to be complained about, and people still wanted it to go to 15.0+ before Su-30SM2 was even announced, btw. Now at least it has some other competition that deserves the same treatment. Maybe when that happens my Su-34 will be playable again.

It beats literally anything other than MICA in that sense. Especially AIM-120A/B/C. That’s still ahead of pretty much everything else in the game.
yeah, but it doesnt change the fact that rafale is still the best plane in the game after like 8 months, and still is today
su-30sm2 is second, yes, but rafale is still better

The competition is no longer rafale = hydrogen bomb vs everything else = coughing baby, it’s now become rafale = hydrogen bomb vs su-20sm2 = hydrogen bomb but with different flavor vs everything else = steroid baby
So, Rafale finally got something to be afraid of (or at least to be mindful of). Is it such a bad thing? Or you are mad that specifically YOUR beloved tech tree didn’t receive its own flavour of Rafale?

Depending on the Flanker Variant the IRST can guide in Laser munitions using the IRST. So it maybe that?
