the 9.12 deserve more love.

I agree the MiG-29 flight model needs attention.

My opinion is that the devs should be modelling all the systems as realistically as possible, while ensuring they are automated for ease of use.

Congrats on the radar gaijin don’t believe captor-E scan is capable of its scan speeds and turned it into mech scan for what it’s worth lmao

Wrong thread?

Agreed. The MiG-29 is an interesting case in War Thunder history. I believe once they gave it the R-27ER and radar helmet capability before really addressing the flight model ruined it. Of course this effects BR & Soviet SU-27s which is another reason.

But these aircraft really never needed some of these over modelled abilities. The IRST & IR missiles are nutty & historically feared. Even the R27ET is limited as result.

They are so reluctant to give its flight model the update it needs because of easy mistakes overlooked in their sources I will add in the appropriate thread.

No it’s IRBIS E fault

Nah was saying congrats on the irbis radar as yall seem to be getting a somewhat accurate radar even if it shouldn’t be on the SM2. While captor-E got turned into a M-Scan

That’s because none the of the scan zones for irbis currently are modeled past its e scan. While for captor e it has scans past its e scan limit.
Though it makes no sense why apply mechanical scan rate to the e scan only zones

have this book, very informative on IRST models for western fighters as well.

For irbis I’m not sure but on captor it moves its gimbal so the entire array moves as its scans which allows it to E-scan its full field of regard both horizontal and vertical. But regardless it’s now been turned into a mech scan radar

is the current vertical scan zones on the IRBIS correct at the moment? since it can only do 8-10 degrees vertical depending on the setting when scanning normally? Was hoping it could do a bit more compared to the BARS

It’s just make believe, talking a 2014ish PESA Radar has a faster scan rate and superior in eveey way over a 2020s AESA Radar.

Was happy to see Su-30 getting upgrades but now Gaijin are just pulling the “Marketing lies card” It’s sad to see.

I should be surprised but really arent

IRBIS is still a Electronically Scanned Array with around 1800 transmitters.

it isnt.

CAPTOR E has 1400+ they dont give an exact number.

TRMs are only part of the equation, it’s the data processing power

Irl scan speed is variable as it depends on dwell time. Longer dwell time means longer range and vice versa.

Aren’t these thing 1600+T/M?. And why do you thing the Su-35s/IRBIS has bad data processing power?. Are you forgetting the Fact that the Su-35s tech was the test bed for Su-57?. Sure they got old quite fast and was late change on Su-57. But they aren’t bad.
