is that a buff? impossible.
Well, only UAC weapons charts that we have are for Su-34E.
Even then I don’t think I’ve seen pictures of su-34 with r77s, only its brother the su-32fn or whatever it is.
And I’ve never seen it carry r77s in special operation videos either
“Brother” puts it kindly…
Surely it’s just because VKS doctrine doesn’t dictate that it’s needed and not for any other totally not technical related reason…
Is there a proof of “technical related reaason”? I am not saying it can or cannot, but if you have a proof i would love to look at it for curiosity sake
It’s mainly speculation you’d expect over the past ~30 or so years Su-34 has existed that there would’ve been at least one single video or picture of it actually firing an R-27R/ER/77… Except there hasn’t… Only dummies and mockups… And even when Su-34 carried live R-27R/ERs in Syria that’s not to say it was simply as a means of intimidation and not to actually use them.
That already exist those were just names given to su-35s that tested r-37m if I remember right
Then why they even put them on pylons? it’s a 350 kilo dead weight if you can’t use them.
Well, i can understand why such speculations exist and why people tend to agree with this position more.
- propaganda
- scare off a bit
Su-35SM isn’t a real designation yet as far as I’ve heard? Pretty sure Su-35S getting R-37Ms was the plan from the since the late 2000s, since it at least was for Su-27SM3…
I swear I remember seeing an image of it… lemme see if I can go find it
it’s a 350 kilo dead weight if you can’t use them.
Hence “simply as a means of intimidation”
Also the newer Su-34E brochures not mentioning either is also quite suspect as well…
With this logic every single thing can be stretched out to “propaganda”
Who are we scaring with SARH missile in 21st century?
well
it can be, but in case above it’s quite easy to be seen.
and you fell for it…
its more of the fact that there is smth, rather than it’s capability.
So, let me get this straigth - we are taking a live missile, not mockup, not training dummy painted like a live missle, but an actual piece of combat hardware, place it on a rail and waste a pylon that could be used for another pair of R-73s or something just to scare a random guy with a binocular? I don’t think Su-34 goes close enough so you can see something with a naked eye
well, propaganda and media will spread it like you do, “nah it can use, take a look it’s mounted!!!”
and why would you even bring R-73 if they wouldnt help you at all in that case?
Aswell as IRL it’s not about taking max loadout you can
i can just take a photo on the ground and spread it out, why would i send an aircraft on a combat mission with them?
It’s not about taking max loadout but we will take 2x350 kilos for media effect.
seems that the russian are giving DIRCM for every plane they got,
now we wait until they put one in the su35 and su30
It shows pretty good results on helicopters so why not?
