Read a bit on TVC engines. Apparently the main difference between Saturn and Klimov designs (outside of Klimov having full 3D TVC) is the fact that Saturn design moves the entire nozzle of the engine, while Klimov ontly moves the supersonic part of the nozzle. Another fun tidbit is that the TVC nozzle offered by Salyut for their AL-31F-M1/2/3 is actually made with help from Klimov engineers, utilises their design and actually offers full 3D TVC. Sadly, no one bought it, but M1 with TVC was on a static display as part of Su-27P flying laboratory at MAKS-2003.
Seems that this is the design offered by Salyut and you can see that only supersonic part of the nozzle is tilted without hydraulics being powered.

Yup, unfortunate that the only proper full 3d tvc plane is the mig -29m ovt with full ±20 degrees deflection at any angle
is it 20 tho? For now i only found 15 degrees for RD-33 design and 16 degrees for Salyut design.

Idk where ±15 degrees come from it’s always been 20.

Funny but most media sources i found say ±15 degrees, and only this photo says 20. Wonder what is the actual number is.

Su-35S wiith it’s incredible thrust, maneuverability, missile load, MAWS radar looking even a bit back, R-74M2, R-77M, R-37M will eat full team at once. It probably will be added in future along with other 16.0 competitors.
I mean, brick with no gun, no RWR and no countermeasures ain’t gonna be fun. If it will get kit from a flying laboratory MiG-25PDSL might be actually interesting to use, but that was a single airframe for testing, not for production.
Well, gaijin can easily limit it to 77-1 and 73s, not like we have 9X and 120Ds available for aircrafts.
Yeah I don’t know about that one chief, it gets more thrust but the FM will still be abysmal.
