Look at how well maintained that Su35 paint scheme is, I’m sure the devs are looking forward to model it just like that.

That’s what you would think, but… Sometimes USSR just throws this out of the window.

like what ? gotta give exemple

MiG-21PFS for example. S in this one means “boundary layer blowout”. Another one is MiG-21S, S here stands for “Sapphire” - new radar that was installed on this version
Oh and MiG-21M is not modernized, it’s actually export

ussr aviation and russian aviation is 2 different concept from the same land

Russian aviation mostly kept the naming logic from USSR, with some new additions, like adding a number for a different version or modernisation stage.

Curious thing but this one says 10 air to air missiles. I take it this airframe didn’t recieve reinforced wings with additional pylons?

First few prototypes were converted t-10 prototypes and not new air frames

thats not a TV seeker

but that stuff always mostly from Mig
Sukhoi has been rather consistent

i agree, Sukhoi tends to be quite consitent with letters. On the other hand it brought a funny moment with 2 Su-30MK2V

Su-35 HUD doing SEAD
