i am sure it does have the upgraded as the r37m cannot be use at it full range, 200km radar su30sm and 280km r37m.

Weird, some radars used to lose locks if you rolled too much, but i just tested it and it doesnt anymore. Maybe theres a bug or something.

Or most likely Gaijin ditched the limitation because they deemed that it got in the way of their ambition to have the game as accessible as possible.

Pretty much everything I’ve read about the SM2 said it has AL-41s and Irbis, so…
it definitely doesn’t have irbis or al-41f. here’s a russian mod documentary on it (it’s in russian) and it states it still uses the same old engines and still using bars, just upgraded with more range.
Anyone telling you it uses al-41f or irbis just don’t know
btw this does say there are flying labs being used to test the new engines, but that current su-30sm2s still use al-31f. so it will get them eventually, but not rn

I figured that, all the articles I found on it were saying stuff about “SM2 planned to start production with AL-41 by end of year.” or “First Su-30SM2 with AL-41 delivered”

it already has the new radar, although they just call it upgraded bars. probably means just upgraded n011m, not irbis
huh. Weird. The only place I can find Bars mentioned is in the Special Projects Forums and considered a possibility in Military Watch magazine.

it is upgraded, it has 2x the detection range of normal bars-m
you can see it’s still bars, look at the elevation scale. only ±40 like normal bars instead of ±60 of irbis

Is this from that MOD video? if so can you gimme a timestamp? I can’t find any pics of a SM2 cockpit with the radar on to verify.
