That is my fear with the Su-35s or Su-30SM2… that more Thrust would end being a bigger problem because the plane could easily reach speed were it lock and only can perform 7g/8g turns.
Idk about Su-30sm2 but Su-35s should be the first jet in game to be able to SUSTAIN 10g. All other and even the most modern F-15EX are only able to Sustain 9g and able to perform for low time more than 12g.
Not matter what Chinese said. That plane its heavy as a Su-30sm an heavy than Su-35s and have less engine power than Su-35s. The radar its unknow and IRBIS is still the best radar until fantasy GaN radar from 2030 start to appear in game.
If AL-51 end having around 40000 lbf /18000kgf I’ll said that they’re equals. At best the West its just a few years a head with Additive manufacturing. But that tech its not as hard as Extreme ultraviolet lithography.
Ok I will bite based on what, what allows a Su-35 to sustain 10g…Bare in mind the pilot would likely black out in any sustained 10g turn.
Why cant a Rafale or a Typhoon achieve this almost certainly an F-22 could…And that was in service way before Su-35S was.
J-16 will use it’s missile to be more effective PL-17s and PL-15s will still be brutally effective even if the airframe is a little slower than the Russian equivalents.
He means the airframe is rated for 10gs… However, that is only for the preproduction su-35/su-27m, which is a completely different aircraft from the su-35s.
Yup, su-35s limited to 9gs here.
even though it says su-35 not su-35s, we know its an su-35s by looking at the other pages of the brochure, as it has the no35 irbis radar, oleps 35 irst and the su-35s cockpit
Exactly, you would just end up compressing badly, I would like the improved acceleration, especially to give more kinetic energy to the R-77-1, but notching would become way more difficult.
I mean, considering the state of Soviet top tier CAS… do we really need another CAS jet? Personally would prefer a strong air superiority (and CAP in TRB)
In the same exact scenario, with a Rafale playing the same way the Eurofighter did, it would have lost regardless, if you take a dogfight so slow like this against a Su-30 you are gonna open opportunities for it.
slow is sub 500kph a place where you dont want to end up
you ideally want to stay at around 700 - 800 kph so you have enough energy to actually do something
the F22 wouldnt be able to hit the same exact shot because it dosent have TVC on the YAW axis
