What? turbo prop?
Given they copied CFM56 for a start 20 odd years ago, it wouldn’t be a good assumption that they went backwards.
IDK tbh where they are RN but rumours of original WS15 which was scrubbed was something along the lines of slightly better than F110-132 but it was abandoned since even WS 10 based off CFM56 got close to that figure, meaning it was literally not worth it.
Service life wise IDK but material is partially there at least from scientific perspective.
the F100-PW-100, not a turbo prop
like i said earlier being able to put out a ton of thrust basically means it has good fuel injectors without other statistics
i don’t think a cycle = 1 hour, that’d be a 70k hours engine life xD
did math, its 3,555 flight hours for the hot parts
thx m8! that’s not bad tbh
it should be noted that this report is from 1991 and iirc there have been some improvements to PW-220 since then, but it provides good assesment of early/mid 80’s (since thats when the PW-220 is from) American operational fighter engine life
yeah
on a side note,
EJ200 might be way worse than thought before
peak engine…
that seems to be the case as the engines get smaller and smaller the lifespan seems to degrade as a small engine is running much harder for a given amount of thrust than a bigger one
its pushing about 20,000lbf on full burner and 13,500 mil power
the F414 is slightly larger and pushes a bit more air out the back but i don’t know the engine life of the 414
there’s no way thats talking about engine force, that’s just weight
my bad
414
EJ200
BTW, is that installed, or uninstalled? Also, is that just normal 100%? If I recall correctly, ej200 has a special war time mode that permits around 5% more thrust, @Flame2512 can you confirm this?
idk m8, just took the wiki values so probably on a bench
It’s bench default cause different FMs have different thrust loss.
Nah. Su-37 have better engine.
That is my fear with the Su-35s or Su-30SM2… that more Thrust would end being a bigger problem because the plane could easily reach speed were it lock and only can perform 7g/8g turns.
Idk about Su-30sm2 but Su-35s should be the first jet in game to be able to SUSTAIN 10g. All other and even the most modern F-15EX are only able to Sustain 9g and able to perform for low time more than 12g.
Not matter what Chinese said. That plane its heavy as a Su-30sm an heavy than Su-35s and have less engine power than Su-35s. The radar its unknow and IRBIS is still the best radar until fantasy GaN radar from 2030 start to appear in game.
If AL-51 end having around 40000 lbf /18000kgf I’ll said that they’re equals. At best the West its just a few years a head with Additive manufacturing. But that tech its not as hard as Extreme ultraviolet lithography.
Spoiler
That its a Kh31 against a plane?
Ok I will bite based on what, what allows a Su-35 to sustain 10g…Bare in mind the pilot would likely black out in any sustained 10g turn.
Why cant a Rafale or a Typhoon achieve this almost certainly an F-22 could…And that was in service way before Su-35S was.
J-16 will use it’s missile to be more effective PL-17s and PL-15s will still be brutally effective even if the airframe is a little slower than the Russian equivalents.
