It has the Su-27SM engines, the SM2 isn’t a real plane.
I thought the SM1 had the new engines the SM didn’t? That makes no sense when they added it to the game originally
The dual pylons are purely fictional, they are not even the ones from the SM3. The latest produced Su-27SM got the upgraded engines even irl instead, just like the latest F-15E got the 229s. Also Rafael kinda got the same treatment missiles wise.
Also, I hate this type of arguments, but if you think that USSR/Russia has gotten the most favouritism in the last year regarding top tier aircraft I don’t know what to say. From the broken FM to the aircraft chosen to get added themselves it was a pretty rough year (especially last 6 months) for the soviet tech tree.
The MiG-29SMT was modelled the same exact way the 27SM is right now, but I don’t think you have anything to complain about it.

Like a lot of planes, there’s often small differences depending on the production batch.
Early batch SM’s retained the old AL-31F’s, later SM batches upgraded to the AL-31F-M1.
No, we all have to provide painstaking evidence, Gaijin are well aware all of this is classified. Take the CAPTUR-M Radar should be the best mechanical Radar in the game. we cannot find data on scan speed so its a copy of the Blue Vixen from the 1980s!

Why didn’t Gaijin give the Swedish Gripen the new Radar, additional hardpoints and the improved engine?
Yes Russia have a had rough time for a few months now, prior to that they dominated R-27ER is still a threat at top tier.
The problem now is to me the Flanker is overperforming it doesn’t lose energy like a large aircraft should it turns and hardly bleeds speed.
So we needs a Su-27Sm early and late ;)
The Gripens have been in a very good spot for a while now, even after the new 14.0’s.
It follows the G charts and it overperforms only at supersonic speeds, which was already reported but gaijin doesn’t want to touch the thrust and drag.

nah they are struggling now, especially the British ones they don’t retain energy they are underpowered and they carry far fewer missiles.
The Rafale is a far better rat fighter, the Typhoon and F-15E dominate BVR and the Su-27s come from nowhere wipe out 4 players with their ridiculous payloads.
More the problem of needing more BR’s than 14.0.
But as 13.7’s, the Gripens are great.
Gripens can easily handle the Su-27’s.
Not anymore the one circle the Gripen would have the Su-27 now even if they merge fast the Su-27 is turning as fast as the Gripen.
Yeah lower Brs the Gripens are good, tried to merge with a Rafale…that didnt go well
In the long run you should be able to gun it down tho, flanker still isn’t as good as other 4th gen for 2C (as expected)

You know how it is you go vertical and you die to the guys team mate, the new engines definitely make the flanker stronger
Well yeah it made the SM better but i’d say the difference is kinda negligible, the SM is also heavier than the regular flanker
Yes, when you 1v2 the enemy you can get caught out.
Ironically the reason the CAPTOR-M underperforms is the same reason the Su-27SM radar is more garbage than it is in real life.
It’s more physics than common sense, aerodynamic parameters (aka Cl/CD polars) are only determined by shape and nothing else.
Because it didn’t need it until the last two updates where balance went all over the place with the F-15E.
The last time Russia was the best top tier nation is summer 2023 with MiG-29+R-27ER meta.
It’s over performing a bit at slightly below supersonic speeds, don’t worry that it will get reported by me if it was not reported already.
Still one can do so much with gaijin bug reports, I got pretty pissed after they answered in 100 different bs ways to an F-16A report (that made me lose a few hours of time) just to get in the end: “We don’t adjust low speed turn rate”

I think we all just want to see these machines perform how they should, hopefully Gaijin gets to them all.
I’m not huge on Russian aviation how much of an upgrade would the Su-35 be and is that the next logical step?

Doubt it, it was leaked that they were working on the Su-30SM.
Well it would carry the powerful irbis e radar and it would have better engines with TVC… It would be too much for the game, next step will be the leaked su-30sm with the bars radar like somebody said, maybe with TVC aswell but i’m not certain
