Well yes, i know that it can be designed that way. We were discussing if the specific ones on falcon 9 were designed that way or not.
and it seems the paper is on dynamic angle on the longitude axis as a means for temporarily turning it into an airbrake, as far as i know the falcon 9 can’t angle their fins on that axis dynamically, only rotate them around a different axis on a set point on the first longitude axis.
It is getting quite off topic at this point, I suggest we don’t continue the conversation or if we do, in DM’s. The Su-27 thread was already cleaned up once.

Nice job man, If they fix It’ll give IRST much more significance than it has now.
İn test drive, the İRST won’t even lock the sabre from side front aspect 3KM +.
İn battles against F-15, if F-15 flares it locks the flares.

Ye, it is sad now.
My biggest wish, when the Su-27 came out, was to fly close to terrain and use the powerfull IRST to lob some ETs at people. But instead we got a copy paste IRST of the 29, with lobbies full of bots (can’t tell what is a player and what isn’t), with similarly underperorming ET seeker range.
