Issue Summary:
The current in-game implementation of the RAH-66 Comanche appears to be significantly underperforming and missing several systems that would realistically define its combat role. Its current configuration feels artificially limited compared to other helicopters in the same BR range, resulting in poor survivability and effectiveness.
Defensive Systems
At 11.3, the RAH-66 lacks any form of infrared countermeasures (flares/chaff) or IR jammers, which are essential for modern rotary aircraft. Given that its stealth functionality is not represented in the current game mechanics, the absence of countermeasures leaves it extremely vulnerable to IR-guided missiles and radar SAM systems.
If stealth cannot provide a practical defensive benefit, the helicopter should at minimum be equipped with flares and/or IR suppression systems to maintain balance.
Survivability & Armor
Documentation and prior dev server builds indicate the RAH-66 utilized advanced composite protection, including graphite sandwich armor and other structural survivability features. These are currently not represented in-game, leaving the helicopter with minimal damage resistance. Incorporating these survivability elements would better reflect its intended design and operational concept.
Suggested Adjustments
Add countermeasures (flares/chaff) and IR jammer capability.
Introduce more advanced Hellfire variants** (AGM-114K/L).
Implement or restore composite armor protection based on real data/dev server version.
Adjust BR to 11.7–12.0 to reflect increased capability and proper matchmaking.
Conclusion
The RAH-66 Comanche in its current form does not accurately reflect the helicopter’s design intent or technological sophistication. By restoring its missing defensive systems, upgrading its weapon options, and improving its survivability, the Comanche could achieve a fair and authentic level of performance within its tier—providing players with a balanced and historically accurate experience.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I understand that the AGM-114L Hellfire variant could be viewed as potentially overpowered; however, given the current SAM-dominated meta, introducing it—alongside comparable missile upgrades for other nations—would help maintain overall balance and diversity across top-tier gameplay.
