Suggestion: Improve Silver Lions and Research Rewards, Reduce Repair Costs

I am a long-term War Thunder player and really enjoy the game, but recently the economy and reward system has made it very difficult to keep playing. I would like to give some constructive suggestions.

  1. Current Problems

  2. Silver Lion income is too low
    Even when winning matches, the SL reward is often not enough to cover repair costs, especially at top tier. Many players end up losing SL even after winning, which makes us afraid to play aggressively and not want to use good vehicles.

  3. Repair costs are too high
    Top-tier aircraft and tanks have extremely high repair fees. A single death can cost 10,000+ SL, which completely discourages casual players.

  4. Research progress is too slow
    Even with premium account, unlocking modules and new vehicles takes an extremely long time. New players and returning players cannot bear this grind.

  5. The reward system over-reliance on activity points makes normal gameplay unrewarding. Players feel forced to grind instead of enjoying the game.

  6. My Suggestions

  7. Increase base SL and RP rewards by about 30%–50%
    This would let players actually make progress without feeling exhausted.

  8. Greatly reduce repair costs, especially for top-tier vehicles
    Repair cost should not be higher than average reward for a win.

  9. Lower the requirements for module research
    Make the stock grind less painful so players can enjoy vehicles instead of suffering through them.

  10. Adjust the activity system to be more friendly to normal playstyles
    Not everyone can get huge kill counts; players who capture points, support teammates, and play objectives should also be rewarded properly.

  11. Why this matters

War Thunder has amazing vehicles and gameplay, but the current economy is pushing players away. Many of my friends have stopped playing because grinding is no longer fun.

Improving the economy will make the game more enjoyable, keep players active, and help the game grow.

Rank V needs the biggest fix.

Rank VI, VII, VIII, IX have decent SL income and often LESS repair cost thank rank V.

Rank V meanwhile?

Ho 229 costs 17.3K SL to spawn in ASB and earns a MAXIMUM 19.8K SL without premium if you max out your reward AND survive full 15 minutes AND land. If you don’t land after 15 mintues you only get 80% - 15.84K. It’s worth noticing: 17.3K (spawn cost) is higher than your maximum income if you fail to land after the 15 minute cycle.

Similar can be observed with the F80C, various Me262s, Kikka and other Rank V aircraft.

Rank V (7.0 to 9.0) is the deadest bracket in air simulator enduring confrontation and mostly only played by people flying unbalanced planes (Saggi 2, Ariete, Sea Vixen) or Il-28 zomber spam.

Buy premium. Its cheap on sales and you have no excuse. I have over 29mill SL. if you want to move up gotta pay

Explain how this fixes 7.0-9.0 being dead.

Also premium is only a 50% increase in SL, not 100%.

Premiere tike with premium plane yiu can bypass that BR. I havent played that BR for a long time.

If you are worried any about SL. Youre f2p. Stay low BRs

What if I want to fly F86 vs Mig-15?

What if I want to fly P-80 vs Me 262?

What if I want to fly Ho 229?

What if I like the crazy jets of late 1940s/1950s and the korean war and don’t care for missile thunder?

Also I literally have premium planes and premium and the issue still persists: check Air SB EC on a random weekday for 7.0 to 9.0 and find… like 1 lobby with a 2 v 2 and that 2 v 2 is zombers zombing.

Economy isn’t the only issue - Saggi 2, Ariete, Sea Vixen are as well. However, Economy means people leave the lobby after dying once or twice causing it to never develop like other brackets. In my 109 F-4 I can have games where people die some 9-10 times before giving up.

The few games I flew at 7.0-9.0? Killed a Ho 229 ONCE. He immediately left. Then I had nobody to fight except zombing Il-28s.
