Suggestion for door gunners and side arm pull up?

Hi, I was wondering if theres a currently suggestion for door guners for utility helicopters and some attack ones, that can carry 7.62mm machine guns and .50 cal ones. If not, planning to do one, maybe you wonder its useless, but would help a lot against helicopters and planes (u would be amazed how many times I did pilot snipe with the mg34 in german alouette).

And what about side arm pull up in helicopters and some piston planes, because pilots often carry 9mm or .45 acp pistols, in helis would be a little useful in heli to heli combats (ground sim), and in planes, well, who knows maybe a lucky shot.

I agree. Helis with side doors should allow door gunners that function similarly to gimbled and pylon mgs and cannon. The door gunner is prominent on many early designs for otherwise “unarmed” utility helicopters to defend themselves from ground fire.
UH-1 and H-34 (including Japanese, Italian, French and Swedish versions) both had door gunners standard for aircrews to suppress ground forces. They could have side-facing arcs of fire instead of forward facing, so the we’d need to turn the heli 30-150* sideways to enable their usage.
I don’t know if the Wessex HU mk5 had door gunners, but if so, they could be an “upgrade” or something.
The other nations/models seem to have wing pylons that block the door areas from having operational fields of fire.

Insert a OH-58 pilot casually doing a drive-by with an m4a1 pointed out the door

also, the m60 is modeled in-game already, so it shouldn’t be that hard to model door gunners

Anyone knows if this toppic should go to Helicopter suggestion or Gameplay?

It should. The devs might completely ignore it like they do with most good ideas, but it’s worth a shot.
