Well, guess we’re waiting for the new year then.
yep a bit of a shame considering the time between this one and the march one but eh
I was wondering when this variant of the Parchim class would get added to the game. Maybe Gaijin will use this occasion to finally give Volksmarine crews their own uniforms instead on using Bundesmarine ones.

The ASDIC and Hydrophone sensors were removed in the first dev update, but they’ve added another hydrophone mechanic ( NOT sensor ) in the second update:
interesting, from what I can understand :
-
hydrophone range will now be based on the speed and throttle of the target, where as it was only based on its speed during the event last year
-
it seems they want to implement hydrophone identification, a bit like RWR for aircrafts currently
Additionally, it seems they mentionned new antiship mechanics for “the first half of next year” in the russian stream, probably pointing to antiship missiles (YJ-83 was added in the files, where it now joins exocet and the already implemented sea eagle)
Dont want to brag but RWR style was one of my solutions how to do it in my suggestion (that mods didnt want me to post)
That’s nice
I would probably use the radar screen for cold war and modern passive sonar as well as active sonar though
I was going off of these and also reusing some UI from Warthunder so players understand it. Sure if this was hardcore simulator like Destroyer: The U-boat Hunter you can make it 1:1.
These are called “radar scopes”

Good to see that submarines are still in active development and the RWR solution looks like a pretty good one!
It’s just kind of a shame that we got teased so much about submarines for this update, for the only piece of news to be “not yet”. Ah well, another three months isn’t too bad. And the naval changes in this update look good too
naval changes ?
There’s new water effects and more detailed wake propagation
ha good to know, I missed it

New stuff from the datamined.

oooh, UI elements?
Looks like it
One to surface, the other for periscope depth ?
In any case I hope they keep the “ship like” control we had during the battle of the atlantic event and not the “plane like” one from silent thunder
