Submarines - WT Discussion

The Soviet 45-54VT (450 mm) high-altitude aviation torpedo was carried by several dedicated platforms, including the Beriev Be-6 flying boat. Russian technical sources explicitly note that the Be-6 could carry two 45-54VT torpedoes under its wing center section (see Aviaru.ru – “Авиационная торпеда 45-54ВТ” and MilitaryRussia.ru entry). The Chinese Qing-6 was simply the domestic re-engined version of the Be-6, and open-source references confirm it retained the Be-6’s torpedo-bomber role (see GlobalSecurity – Qing-6 and Wikipedia – Beriev Be-6). While none of the English-language references spell out “45-54VT” for the Qing-6 by name, the aircraft was a direct continuation of the Be-6 airframe and mission set, so it is very likely that Chinese service Be-6/Qing-6 units employed the same Soviet torpedoes.

“On the torpedo-bomber Il-28T one 45-54VT torpedo was suspended, on the Tu-14T — two, on the Tu-16T — up to six, and on the flying boat Be-6 — two under the wing center section.”

But tbh I haven’t found any other sources so who knows if this is true.

Well actually, since we are getting shot down in WW 2 bombers by AAM from 70’s ships, I can totally see Type VIIB getting yeeted by ASROC across whole map.
