How are Subs ever going to even compete at this point, can’t imagine avoiding a Mk 46 dropped on your head is going to be easy, let alone one that is sonar / radar cued.

“Matchbox” ASROC was deployed in 60’s so it should face subs with nuclear reactor and some with long range ballistic missiles. Highly doubt ships like Chikugo will stay on their current BR after they activate their ASW equipment.

If I had to guess, based on this wording, they’re shooting for a submarine closed beta with the fourth major update, and an open beta for the fifth major update.

And dont forget RUR-4 Weapon Alpha which is predecessor of RUR-5 ASROC that is functional on JDS Isuzu or Mitscher-class destroyers. Although its just granade launcher in current version (same as depth charges are currently just “granades”).
